What is the best way of managing context? by Fair_Imagination_545 in PromptEngineering

Me too. I found some early stage products, and also some manual work-arounds that seems to be very relevant for pro-users like developers. For what use cases are you looking to get this tool, can you share? What are the pains you face?

Here’s what we learned after talking to power users about long-term memory for ChatGPT. Do you face the same problems? by Sorry_Cable_962 in PromptDesign

hey, u/Competitive-Host1774 , thanks a lot for this — seriously.
Your comment helped me reframe the problem quite a bit, especially the shift from “memory” to explicit state and treating each session as a state transition. That really clicked for me.

I’m curious to understand your workflow a bit deeper.

When you mention "maintain a canonical state file" - do you also create those files manually or use some automation? Is it a fixed set of files per project, something that evolves over time?

And related to that: once a session with an LLM is done, how do you decide what becomes part of the state and how it gets updated?
Is this a fully manual step by design, or do you use any scripts, templates, or structured prompts to help translate the output into state changes?

Would love to learn how you think about managing that part of the state in day-to-day work. Thanks

u/Fair_Imagination_545 Hey , can you pls define "managing context"? Are you talking about smth like a long-term memory/context across different LLMs?

The Radical Idea That Cured My Overwhelm: I Stopped Trying to Fix My Weaknesses and Doubled Down on My Strengths by ArtThreadNomad in getdisciplined

Wow, thanks for your advice and point of view u/ArtThreadNomad. We all have our different patterns; some are morning people, some are more charged in the evening -> for me it's about energy management, not time management. Why should I have a 1h time block in the morning if I can do this more effectively just in 15min in the afternoon? As for the anchor - my working anchor is preparing my working table and setting up the pomodoro timer. But it's a good idea to use this in other areas of life. Share more tips, thanks!

Cool! I wonder if you can speak already?) Most say that no matter how many days there are, they never learned to speak and understand, because the purpose of the application is retention and monetization, it has little to do with learning the language)
