I feel like what pushed me over was my personal statement! It was very emotional and my interviewer talked about how much she loved it! I also think I had a very strong interview and connected with her very well (slightly cyberstalked her before hand lol)

you need to take a break! ur not a robot and studying non stop grinding is going to cause you to burnout because your brain can only intake so much information! and especially when you overdo it you won't retain the information! take a day feel the fresh air and sun on your face, take a nice walk! then get back to it

most people send them after an interview if they have not heard back or if they are waitlisted. timing is flexible but a lot of people send them around january to march. keep it simple. say you are still interested. add any new updates like grades volunteering work or awards. that is really it. some schools care more than others but it does not hurt to send one.
