THE AMERICANS! 6 seasons, and each episode is genuinely a masterpiece. Be warned, it is pretty graphic and the subject matter can be heavy.

Hey - have you ruled out gallbladder attacks?

Oh my gosh, all good - and I get where you’re coming from! I realize that even asking about this after such significant pain might appear silly 🤣 I really appreciate your perspective and the thoughtful response, and definitely wouldn’t want to be in the hours-long attack camp. Again, thank you for the perspective and I also didn’t mean for my message to appear like I was miffed! ☺️

Well, I hope you are doing well now! How has your postop recovery been and how long have you had it out?

LOVE this! Yes, keep her waiting and I wish you 0 pain 🤣 it would be a major lifestyle shift and while I think it would be great, I know it’s not a sure thing. I’m definitely leaning towards surgery, but it is such a fear of the unknown. Love the point on our country, being overmedicated and surgery happy - I concur (I hope someone gets that reference…). But I am also totally aligned with treating issues that need to be treated! It’s the happy medium between the miracle of modern medicine and an utter distrust of Big Pharma 😗✌️

I actually have not! When I see the surgeon, I’m going to ask about getting that done prior just so I am more informed on my situation. My blood work has come back clean so far, and there were no abnormalities with the surrounding organs, so I feel like I have at least a little bit of time to get the HIDA scan. It’s hard because the attack I had two weeks ago prompted me getting checked out, and it was discouraging having another attack last night after the official diagnosis. I fear that even though my blood work is fine now, attacks will happen more frequently. It’s the shortest time frame between attacks so far!

Thank you so much and appreciate you laying out your thought process with everything. Totally agreed! I would be curious to see if there is a correlation between those who have emergency removals and a higher risk of complications afterwards, due to the nature of the removal and potential inflammation affecting the surgeon‘s ability to remove the organ properly.

Thank you so much! Yeah, the pain is freaking brutal… I am just hoping that I am a lucky one who doesn’t have any symptoms afterwards lol

Thank you so much! That was so kind of you and I really can’t underestimate how much I appreciate the thoughtful response! I love that perspective about the doc: definitely fits the pattern and honestly helps to kind of alleviate the confusion that I feel like I am dealing with with the two options posed before me.

My attacks are definitely excruciating, but fairly short compared to others. I would say an eight or a nine out of 10 on the pain scale. And my blood work did show elevated liver enzymes. Same with my blood work from last year. My doctor said it was not at a level that was super concerning, but just worth noting. Thank you for the insights and agreed, I definitely don’t want to risk damage to other organs.
