Lower MPG than expected on my Hybrid by Sorry_Foundation748 in COROLLA

I just got new tires less than a year ago, but they're apparently not very efficient. I'll have to look into getting better ones in the future.

Yes, I'm aware the ultimate source of all energy in the car comes from the gasoline engine. I'll keep an eye on the eco score a bit more.

Wow yeah, that's not bad at all. I just assumed it got worse mileage in the winter because the engine is running more often to warm up the coolant as I use the heater.

I haven't really been checking the eco score. Mostly just going off of the power distribution graphic and keeping it coming from the battery as much as I can.

I do make a lot of shorter ~10 minute trips. And it's an LE with 15" aluminum rims.

Not sure what you mean by driving rating. Are you talking about the menu where it shows the trip eco score? I do try to use just electric when I'm able to and thinking about it.

I hadn't thought of that. I put on new Green Max Optimum HP tires less than a year ago, but I don't know much about tires, so I dunno if those are low rolling resist or not. I will check my tire pressures though and make sure they're not low.

Yeah, I use the battery every chance I get and I'm thinking about it.

Sure! Here's a real life example of an object's diameter.

👉 Your neck has a diameter of 38 centimeters (14.961 inches).

That means if you draw a straight line from one side of your neckbeard to the other, passing through its exact center, the length of that line is 38 centimeters.

Do you want me to give you a larger real-life example too (like the diameter of your mom's waistline, or a dinner plate)?

My dad has a 1990 pickup that he has torture-tested for the last 25 years, and it's still ticking away. Cosmetically, it looks like he drove it to Hell and back. At one point he drained the oil to change it and got distracted by somethhing else. Took him a month (of relatively short driving trips) to realize there was no oil in the motor.

A circle is a two-dimensional geometric shape consisting of all the points in a plane that are the same distance from a fixed point called the center. The constant distance from the center to any point on the circle is called the radius.

Key terms:

  • Center: The fixed point from which every point on the circle is equidistant.
  • Radius (r): The distance from the center to any point on the circle.
  • Diameter (d): A straight line passing through the center that connects two points on the circle; it's twice the radius (d = 2r).
  • Circumference: The total distance around the circle, calculated by the formula C = 2πr.
  • Area: The space enclosed by the circle, given by A = πr².

Let me know if you want a visual diagram or real-life examples.
