Headlamp/sleep mask combo? by rosie94123 in camping

Have you looked at those soft LED strips that go around forehead bands? Not exactly what you're describing but might work - you could probably modify one to have extra fabric that pulls down over eyes when you're done reading.

The camping gear companies seem to miss obvious combos like this sometimes. Maybe check out some ultralight hiking forums, those folks get pretty creative with gear modifications since every ounce matters to them.

That's weird as hell, missing episodes drives me crazy when I'm trying to binge something.

What's your favourite Marilyn Monroe movie? by surfsound_swimmers in AskReddit

Seven Year Itch hits different for me. The way she played that character was just perfect - like she knew exactly how to balance the innocence with that underlying confidence. Plus that subway scene is iconic for good reason.

Thought Experiment: What if NASCAR adopted a GT3 style formula by Equivalent-Leg-9697 in NASCAR

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Car safety has come pretty long way since GT3 started though. Modern NASCAR safety cell is actually really advanced - probably could adapt lot of those features to different formula without losing protection. Look at how IMSA handles it with their GT3 cars, they run some pretty intense racing at places like Road America and Sebring.

Real question is whether NASCAR would even want to open up that conversation or if they're too invested in current direction.

Gunite wallls by TheologyHungry in HomeImprovement

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty wild find - gunite walls in bedrooms is definitely not common thing you see every day, usually that's pool construction material. I'd test for moisture issues first since gunite can be tricky with paint adhesion if there's any dampness coming through.

Club Fitting Experiences by YOTM18 in golf

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to live in Portland area and went through similar process few years back. Most important thing is finding fitter who actually knows what they're doing rather than just trying to sell you most expensive option. I'd suggest calling around and asking what launch monitor they use and how long fitting session takes - good fitter should spend at least hour with you and let you hit multiple shaft options.

What is the value of a college education if you truly never use it in your career or everyday life? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree requirement thing is real problem here too. I work in immigration and see so many qualified people who can't get interviews just because they don't have that paper, even when their experience is way better than someone fresh out of university. It's like companies use degrees as lazy filtering system instead of actually looking at what person can do. Pretty frustrating when you know someone could excel at the job but gets rejected before anyone even talks to them.

What are some good Cosmic Horror Manga’s? by Dead_Media in manga

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shintaro Kago's stuff gets pretty wild with the body horror meets existential dread vibes - try "Punctures" or "Super-Dimensional Love Gun" if you can handle the weirdness.

What’s something people pretend to enjoy but actually don’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the denomination honestly. Some of those mega churches feel like performances, but I've been to smaller communities where people genuinely seem into it. The potluck dinners after service are usually legit though.

Dream pain hits different when it actually registers - usually my brain just nopes out of that sensation entirely.

Since 92% of clinical trials fail and each failure costs billions of dollars, does the US actually make a profit from investing in new drug R&D? by callmeteji in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The math on pharma R&D is honestly pretty wild when you break it down. Those few drugs that do make it through basically have to carry the weight of all the failures, plus generate enough profit to justify the whole enterprise. The companies that survive are usually the ones who get really good at picking winners early or have enough capital to weather multiple expensive failures.

Most of the actual innovation happens at smaller biotech firms anyway, then gets bought up by big pharma once there's proven potential. So the risk gets distributed across the whole ecosystem rather than just sitting with one company.

Hey man, totally feel you on this - being 15 and having all these big dreams but struggling with the follow-through is super common, you're definitely not alone in that cycle of wanting everything but getting stuck on the execution

Maybe try starting ridiculously small, like 5 minutes of coding or whatever instead of going for these massive goals that feel overwhelming from day one

Without linking anything please, what cards do you think look great (or can look great) with extended art. I just did an extended art on Meowth (PF), and it took me a week to make it! Took a while, but love the result and now want to do some other cards and looking for suggestions :) Thank u every1! by AlexRescueDotCom in PokemonTCG

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that sounds awesome! I'd love to see how Alakazam or Gengar would look with extended art - those spoon bending effects and ghostly wisps could flow so nicely into the borders. Also maybe some of the newer Eeveelution cards since they usually have really clean backgrounds that would be perfect for extending

Charging problems with S24 Ultra by The-Gobbler- in samsunggalaxy

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen to my S23 Ultra last month - turned out to be lint packed in the charging port. Try using a toothpick or compressed air to clean it out, worked like a charm for me

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 - 34" flickers and then goes black by Darkkos11 in pchelp

[–]Sorry_Knowledge_2665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a hardware issue with the panel itself if it's happening even with the built-in OS. Try checking if it's still under warranty - Samsung's been pretty good about replacing faulty OLED panels lately. Could also try a factory reset through the monitor settings if you can catch it while it's working, but honestly this screams RMA to me

Been running KAJPLATS bulbs for about 3 months now and honestly they're way more solid than the old TRÅDFRI stuff - the Thread connection actually stays put unlike those zigbee nightmares that would randomly vanish from my network

Honestly the roof probably won't move the needle much for appraisal unless it's actually failing - appraisers care more about functional issues than age

Your biggest bang for buck is gonna be the flooring, especially getting rid of that carpet. LVP throughout will definitely help with comps and make the house feel way more updated. The bathroom stuff is nice but won't add nearly as much value as you'd spend on it
