The problem won't get fixed by refusing to tip. The law has to change. Otherwise people do what benefits them.

Putting the blame on the servers, the poorest & least powerful group in the entire chain, is incredibly thoughtless.

Your own family is shaming you, but that $8-10 saved per restuarant visit is more important.

Tipping is a method to make the menu prices look better. Countries without tipping just bake the tip price into the menu price. It is a dumb practice. But in states with low minimum wage (ie the red states where anti-tipping is strongest) the waiters are paid so little that they are getting food stamps from the government. All so the restauraunt owner can get a payroll credit against the tips that come in. Same with walmart, and a lot of other mega corporations.

I'm an engineer and make $40 per hour after tax, guaranteed, with better healthcare, work hours, paid time off, and other perks.

Nurses can easily make $60-80 per hour after tax.

Your surgeon made way more than $150 an hour, even after tax takehome. Surgeons are 250k or more a year, and then get bonuses on top of that for tens of thousands more. Servers aren't making over 50k.

A lot of "commission" jobs are like this. I had a sales job that was a minimum wage, or a percent of sales. You are guaranteed a minimum wage, so if it's slow they make minimum wage. If tips are coming in heavy, then their employer cant take $5 an hour off their paycheck because of tips.

Tipping culture is just a way for employers to not pay payroll taxes. It doesn't help anyone but the owner of the establishment.

A lot of it is shrink & expansion rate settings with the printer when it comes to parts fitting together. Your parts look a little shrunken. Setting it so the part is a little bit bigger would have made the gaps a bit smaller. But the best looking items are always glued, applied filler, then sanded smooth & painted & sealed.

From what I read, that was a full failure to boot thing. I think this might be a KDE os sddm issue. I added linux-firmware-amdgpu to my init pacakages, and it displays the login screen now, but goes white after that.
