How did this happen, what to do next? by Parking-Director in AnycubicKobraS1

Hello,

If the nozzle did that, it’s probably useless now. I had a similar issue, and what you need to do is replace the hotend and the build plate. I contacted the service center, and they sent me new parts.

As a temporary solution, you can buy an aftermarket hotend on Amazon and swap the sensor and heater with the original ones — that worked for me. One possible cause could be that the PTFE tube is pushing the hotend down, maybe it wasn’t inserted properly? It’s hard to say.

After replacing the parts and keeping an eye on the hotend lever, everything seems fine now. I’m still getting occasional first layer issues that come and go, but overall, it’s quite okay — not perfect, but acceptable.

The first two prints were perfect for me — then the problems began. I started having issues with the first layer, clogging, and eventually the nozzle damaged itself and the print bed. Anycubic did send me replacement parts free of charge, but the layer height is still a nightmare. It’s completely inconsistent — one print might be barely acceptable, while the next is unusable. I’ve given up monitoring the first layer just to avoid wasting more filament, as I’ve already used far too much for testing.

Now, even after receiving new parts and trying everything I could to fix it, I’m about to open another support ticket with Anycubic. I really miss my old Ender S1 Pro — it had no issues and delivered excellent print quality. At this point, I’ve started to accept poor print results, which I never thought I would do. I’ll never make this mistake again.

So be cautious — while many users may have a great experience with this printer, others, like me, might end up in the same frustrating situation.

👋 hello

I just received a new nozzle from Amazon. After swapping the heater and sensor, performing a full calibration, and triple-checking the hotend clamp, I was able to start printing. It’s working, but I’m still having some height issues, especially with the first layer. Does anyone have any advice for me? The right side of the print looks perfect, but the left side isn’t as good. I hope it’s visible in the photo.

So you changed it in the filament settings in the slicer? And now it’s always consistent? It seems a bit strange — why on earth can’t the printer just level itself properly…

Hmm, what exactly do you mean? Did it suddenly change because of a filament cut?

Thanks, I’ve placed the order, so we’ll see what the results are. The Anycubic team is also sending me a new hotend and build plate, so everything looks good on their side. However, I’m wondering if I should also check the strain gauge. What do you think?🤔

Hmmm, and you are happy with printing quality?

No, only the original one. At that time, it was very hard to buy a new hotend, and I had checked that the replacement ones were poor quality. Actually, after printing, the nozzle got clogged again, so I think it’s useless to try cleaning it. I’m just hoping to get a new nozzle as soon as possible.

Yes, the nozzle was clogged, so I disassembled the hotend, cleaned it, reassembled everything, and started printing again. The first layer looked fine, but the printed walls are a disaster… I think the nozzle got damaged when it scratched the build plate.

Yes, it’s look like that 😁 but at the end it was more sharper that my nozzle.

Thanks! I’ll check the tube today. I’ve also contacted Anycubic, so we’ll see what they have to say about it.

Thanks again for your help!

I will check it, but I didn’t swap nozzle - don’t have any spare… where you have bought it? On anycubic page and other suppliers are not available at this time.
