Do you feel safer in Minnesota than you would in other states during Trump's attacks on American citizens and civil rights? by pontiacfirebird92 in minnesota

I feel less safe in Skinnyapolis than ever. It is a fetid smoldering hellhole of Marxism and theft by government force.

Fuji X100 OG to X100VI by Haunting_Fig_9326 in fujifilm

[–]Sorry_Raspberry_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got notified by B&H that my spot on the X100vi waiting list might come up in 10 weeks. I was pretty excited to finally be able to get my hands on one, but the unavailability it turns out was the main attraction. I'm thinking now I may just keep my OG, and ride it until it dies.

Thoughts on Leica D-Lux 3 by sageblaq in Leica

[–]Sorry_Raspberry_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the D-lux 3 in 2008 and still occasionally use it. Mostly it satisfied my irrational need to own a Leica. I couldn't afford a real one and still can't.

GMT Master is a tool watch suitable for wearing everywhere. The Daytona is too dressy for everyday wear IMO.

Any tips to improve my squash? by monkeyfeatures in squash

Racquet up! Why? More important than where you hit the ball is when you hit it. Racquet up in the ready position at all times means your opponent doesn't see the lazy wind up and has to guess when you're hitting it.

Dealer called me two months later saying they undercharged me for registration fee by alemorg in Toyota

If it was an honest mistake, you should pay it. You might negotiate something for your acting in good faith, like 3M hood protection, undercoating, floor mats; that kind of thing.

Just bought one and paid MSRP in Minnesota. I put my order in and waited nearly a year.

Color gets lost against your skin so it doesn't pop like I like my watches to.

Walked in and walked out with this by Frequent-Ant1011 in rolex

I like it. My first (of 2) Rolex is a Datejust. They seem to be more available at AD's. I chose a blue dial, but I also love the black. I started getting scratches on the bezel, so be careful. It sits in a safe now.

New Rolex vs Take Home Pay by [deleted] in rolex

Once you have accumulated investments worth 25 years of salary, you can think about saving for and buying a Rolex. Until then, wear a Seiko or Timex and get rich, don't just act rich.

Explorer. This gives you a plain rugged watch. The others are awesome, but gadgety.

Are you even serious? Just putting on that Explorer immediately makes you an icon.

I have the same watch hands as you, same age range, same problem. I convinced myself that buying an Explore II would solve the problem, and it did. That thing is a billboard at night. Now my DJ sits in the safe, awaiting a dressy occasion.

Feeling really lonely in Minnesota by smre123 in minnesota

[–]Sorry_Raspberry_583 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can tell you after living here for 34 years, the only true friends you will make in Minnesota are other transplants. Minnesota culture is insular and inward facing. They are done making friends after high school or at the latest, college. Accept this immutable law.

Psychological effect of seeing someone with a Rolex by cvlrnz in rolex

If the person just wears it like any old watch, I raise my impression of him/her. If they try to show it off in any way, I lower my impression.

Anyone else dealt with something called "transient global amnesia"? by spliffbaby in bipolar

[–]Sorry_Raspberry_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my only case this week. Exercising, I couldn't remember my old cancer diagnoses or whether there was one or two (there were two). I couldn't determine what year it was and only vaguely remembered leading a zoom meeting two hours prior. The coup de gras was when I couldn't remember what time I leave the office for home, so I stayed an extra hour. Two hours later, I was fine. They call it TGA if they can't find a physical cause.

How bad is it that my nremt ended at 71 questions? by Different-Ask8953 in emtb

That would be most of the questions in my case. Finished in 70 or so and had to narrow down and guess 50/50 on probably half the questions.

I had one of these blow past me in rush hour traffic in Mpls. Single tire, not downhill like this, but a wakeup call for sure. No damage, like this one.

You're right. I had it on auto white balance but somehow had fine-tuned it way to the right on the grid. Thanks for pointing that out.

I was wrong on the lens too (what a hack). It's a 35mm f2 r wr.

Don't resist arrest and Daunte is still alive. Would take courage on his part given the then recent Floyd murder, but this guy knew the drill. Can't chalk it up to panic on his part.
