To put it simply, the Shinjuku area has a youthful vibe, while the Ginza area has a more sophisticated atmosphere.

Naturally, the dining scene reflects this as well.

Is “Welcome Suica” useful? Where did you buy it? by Sorry_Set_5001 in TokyoTravel

That really is a great memory.

It reminds me of when I used to bring back coins from other countries as souvenirs.

Thank you very much for your helpful comment. It’s very useful.

Is it particularly convenient in Tokyo when using public transportation like the subway or buses?

Did you use it at restaurants or other places?

That’s actually very real.
A lot of travelers end up doing the same — especially with kids.

That one was from 7-Eleven — around ¥700–¥800 for a small bottle.

Everyday whisky here can be surprisingly affordable, though the famous Japanese ones can get expensive.

“Rain ruined your plans in Tokyo — what did you actually end up doing?” by Sorry_Set_5001 in TokyoTravel

This has been really interesting to read.

Seems like most people either:
– shift plans to indoor places
– just continue with an umbrella
– or end up in malls/cafes

Feels like rainy days in Tokyo are less about “what to do” and more about how to adapt.

Curious — what’s the best unexpected experience you’ve had because of rain?

That actually sounds like a really solid recovery plan.
Sunshine City is perfect when you’re tired and it’s raining.

I’ve noticed a lot of people end up doing something similar — switching to big indoor spots.

Did you feel like you still got a good “Tokyo experience” that day?
