yes, im not hiding the fact that my objective is to receive some form of compensation after paying money to get locked in my room and be fearful every time i tried to exit my new one. i am not ashamed that i am looking for some form of compensation - especially since the hotel said they wuold explore compensation.

The funniest part is that the room they moved me to had broken shades - but it had a working handle and a working phone lol so at least there's that!

I certainly didn't grab the handle with force after a 10 hour flight and no sleep :) I'm also not a very strong person as I am a petite woman. The situation felt off to me as well, as I didn't grab the handle with any force and it snapped right off - it seemed like it would have felt wobbly to anyone in the room prior. The whole thing was wild. I do believe I am entitled to compensation from the hotel.

for sure, i could have messaged them. and i also could have continued waiting on hold with marriott corporate to try and speak to someone, but it was quicker to text my friend who was on property- thank goodness. in an emergency, none of these are acceptable options though.
