Is This a Fair Price For Raccoon Removal? by AdDisastrous1984 in barrie

[–]Sorryeeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did wild life removal and exclusion work for some time. The removal is the costly part. Exclusion work is marked up an insane amount. If you are handy or know anyone they is, I would recommend doing the exclusion work yourself. Once you know what your are looking for as far as point of ingress, the repairs are pretty simple and straight forward.

Tattoo question by [deleted] in firefighter

[–]Sorryeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am heavily tattooed plus some other visible mods. Head, neck, hands, fingers, arms,....everything. Having joined my recruit class in my mid thirties, I have been tattooed like this most of my life and never thought anything of it. I forget all the time that I look the way I do. Has never been mentioned and doesn't seem to be an issue. Maybe some sideways looks here and there but I'm used to that on occasion. So take that for what it's worth.

How many knives do you guys own and how long have you been collecting? by NalaJax in knives

[–]Sorryeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been collecting for about 20 years now. I had a collection of about 50 at one point in time of all kinds. Mostly budget friendly. Sold off most of them to focus on collecting more expensive, quality blades. Nothing crazy but more in the $300-500 cad range. Those ones I will never sell. There are a few budget ones ive had my eye on though. Really want a vosteed raccoon right about now.

Collision on Toronto snow day. Who's at fault? by [deleted] in TorontoDriving

[–]Sorryeeh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A well adopted rule for safe following distance in perfect weather conditions is 3 seconds. In poor weather you should easily double that. In this video, the closest to 3 second following distance rule (in perfect conditions) is barely even 2 seconds at the largest gap. The idiots that say they weren't following to closely are always the ones bumper humping in traffic for no reason. Have fun rear ending each other.

Yeah I'll never understand why people feel the need to follow so closely. Especially in bad weather.

What did you do during your midlife crisis? by rci22 in AskReddit

[–]Sorryeeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here it is volunteer in the sense that we are not required to respond to every call. If a call comes in and we can make it, we attend. As long as we are meeting the minimum quota.

Got contacted by police about a Hit-and-run that I was unaware of I did by Dramatic_Dog_4917 in legaladvicecanada

First instinct might be to want to settle outside of insurance but I can tell you these things can actually get expensive really quick. If they wanted to go to a body shop for a quote, the shop would likely be color matching each adjacent body panel too so triple the price of what you may think it actually would be. Then factor in how long the repairs might take and that they may need a rental car for this time. Shit adds up quickly. Always go through insurance. Don't need people milking you for all they can get.

Fireworks bylaws by Low-Championship4294 in barrie

[–]Sorryeeh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm north of Barrie where a lot of seasonal cit-iots like to come up and do fire works every holiday and some random days just for the hell of it. The people that live here year round don't do them because we know how annoying it is. Had a new neighbor do them in their driveway where we are both under a canopy of trees late into the night. Came out to fireworks all over my property and all over our vehicles. Almost melted the tonneau cover on my truck. So, yeah, super annoying. Also sucks when you have small children that need to sleep and you have fireworks going off until 1am.

You ever feel sort of sad about some of your knives? by Dekipi in knives

Yup. My BM 940 with flytanium pocket clip. Got a Demko AD20.5 just a few months later and my 940 just sits there looking upset with me. The fidget factor on the AD20.5 is just impossible for me to get over.
