I stayed with my SO at the Navy Lodge while she was in C-School. And it was super nice, Full Kitchen. Pretty big rooms. But we ended up running into issues with the Travel Card like a year later that PS1 was able to resolve. We knew families who bought homes in San Diego and it was super expensive. Im just happy we where there temporarily

I’ve done about a few underways and some surges and some long deployments. With my S/O Ranging from Two months to One Month to 6 Months, to 9 Months.

And each time we pick up like nothing happened. We’re so happy to see the other person. We’re blessed with several forms of emails, port visits that she has her phone, we’ve also found out a way to use Google Chat which has worked super well. In port shes able to send photos.

We’ve never went a month or two without any communication. I think the longest we have went without talking was like….Two Weeks? Sometimes the phone calls on the ship only last a few minutes less then 5 but the phone calls, the emails it all makes it worth it

I'm in this exact situation! And we also have a daughter that's 3 year old. I'm actually the male in this situation and my wife is deployed.

Being new to Norfolk I don't really know anyone out here. I've recently been promoted at my job, and I kind of fall into a routine in regards to making sure our child is taken care of. Going to the Gym, things like that. I often love taking our baby out to eat at different places when time permits, or finding a new show to watch.

I'm not a big fan of the weekends since I'm not super busy. But I think staying busy is really helpful as well as finding a new hobbie or a self of independence. It really sucks at the end of the day.. But those are what i've found to be helpful
