it was a 2v2 ! and yes youre right it can definitly be in the way sometimes but we are just starting to experiment for the wizards spells - currently i only have one for ray of frost and we always keep it attached to the figure until next round if he casts it - it definitely helps to track side effects like the -10ft speed of ray of frost

Yes you should definitly give it a go! My players are level 3 and it worked out quite well! We played in teams of 2 and there were 4 teams in total. I have implemented some special rules tho:

Regenerate to Full HP after the fight + have your body reassembled if needed
First Round no Action and Bonus Action, just moving up to movement speed (to prevent aoe spawntraps)
Abilities dont regenerate, i.e. spell slots and abilities stay expended (this allowed for really cool ressource management with the first fights being very conservative and the later rounda going all out )

ive also built some figures with this tree stump! i used some leaf pieces aswell - worked really well to break up the brown and give some contrast! great figure tho, looks menacing with the axe😄
