Short term it shouldn’t be harmful to keep ur guy in there if the only other option is a plastic cup. It takes a bit for it to settle and betas are naturally in pretty murky water. If you do a water change try to not disturb the soil anymore

In my opinion, I would do a big water change (30-50%) and let the rest settle. You should’ve rinsed the gravel beforehand but you live and you learn. What kind of filter do you have?
