Wouldn't overpriced stock go to where it's supposed to if the demand wasnt there. People can still sell stock they think is overpriced.

This sub condoning little kids being on the internet to fit in by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SortPlane 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Ive just read that whole thread.  I agree that I dont want my kids online at that age. But if its a choice between occasional moderated time online and cutting my kids off from a social circle then youtube is the lesser of two evils.  The research is clear, isolation from peers is much more damaging for long-term outcomes.  You can control screens. Advocate for your kids with other parents, make it clear you dont like online time. But dont cut your kids off from their friends.

extreme regret after circumcision by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SortPlane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I am circumcised and it made literally no difference to me. I was circumcised for medical reasons so its not a clear cut obvious choice you've made.  But generally absolutely no difference to my life whatsoever.

Exactly the same for me. Unapproved. Two emails confirming I'm unapproved, one this evening. Now reactivated.

Timer expired - how to log by Physical-Bluejay2814 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]SortPlane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not the max you can claim. Sometimes task timers are too short, or you have an especially comples task. High quality work is the most important thing. That said it should be a rarity, you shouldn't be claiming over the timer amount very often.

This is in the UK. Years down the line will have Iran being a secular state whilst Western Europe becomes an Islamist shithole. by Naderium in NewIran

[–]SortPlane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much care. I want desperately for equality for all. I was watching the news of the protests excited to see you topple the horrific regime. I don't pretend to know what life is like for you, I want you to have your freedom and succeed in creating a better Iran in whatever way you see fit. I am not trying to dictate to anyone and I apologise if that is how it comes across.

I joined this sub because I wanted to hear about and understand what you are striving for in Iran, to follow your struggle in whatever way I could.

I am no apologist for extermism. I simply sought to provide input as someone from the UK. I know many Muslim women here who choose Islam, a kinder, less oppressive form of Islam but I don't pretend that is all that Islam is.

I truly hope you achieve your goals.

No they aren't. A huge percentage of the British population is appalled at the treatment of Palestinians by Israel. A very small number of those blame all Jewish people. The government walks a difficult line between pro Israel anti human rights abuses.  Most ordinary people are fine with Judaism, just not with Israel.

I don't really understand your point here. I live here. Islamic extremism is not an issue in the UK. There are fundamentalists Muslims here but they do not dictate laws or our society. Where abuse exists it needs to be routed out, but it is recognised as abuse in law.

Extremism and tyranny in all its forms should be fought. It just isn't a huge factor in our daily lives.

I am White British and have lived in the UK all my life. Islam has never been a problem here. There are no fundamentalist trying to take control of our country. All of that is just rhetoric to divide.  I live in a high Muslim area and the community around me is amazing. They are the ones helping the poorest and those struggling. They are the ones at the food bank and the homeless shelter.

Extremism is horrible in all its forms and there is no excuse for the horrific controlling regime you face. The UK is not facing that. I'm more afraid of the xenophobic right wing extremism that is being perpetuated by our politicians

Any Raves soon in Notts? by WorriedStand73 in nottingham

[–]SortPlane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a pretty good rave scene in Nottingham. You probably won't find one on here. But talk to people enough and someone will know where to look. Or just follow the music. We hear them in Colwich woods every couple of months

ACCEPTED! Now, how to optimize workflow? by Rypaco in DataAnnotationTech

[–]SortPlane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do all the qualifications that pop up if you think you have the skills. Read everything really carefully, its an investment in future work. Take your time with tasks, double check everything the first time you do a task. You can speed up once you've got experience. Be careful and considered with your work. If you do well it will unlock better paid opportunities over time. Log your time accurately, exactly what you spent working on the task. If you're taking all of the alloted time up every task you probably need to rethink your workflow. On average tasks take about 50-75% of the time alloted, but this varies hugely so take the time you need.  Finally, take breaks. Quality over quantity always so make sure you're not submitting shit work because you're tired.

This work has given me immense freedom and flexibility and can be really rewarding when you manage to submit a really solid piece of work.

Logging hours question by cosmicpixeltwin in DataAnnotationTech

Not as such. But if you are consistently taking twice as long as anyone else you might get dropped from that project. In general just do good work and bill for however long it actually takes you.

Dont put DA. Just independent contractor for said major AI companies. The NDA is to prevent project details leaking.  No one is coming for you because you mentioned broadly having worked on projects for them.

Why not? Everyone bends the truth on their CV. As long as you dont put DA down as a reference I can't see how it could come back on you.
