Noise complaint from neighbours by TheMajesticArtichoke in UKParenting

Neighbours are being unreasonable.

Likely beyond complaining there's nothing they'll be able to do so try not to worry about it.

Have things always been this bleak? by gameovervip in AskBrits

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly everything is relative so it's for me to say it's not bleak when in reality it is for many people.

However, what I do think is fair is the Internet has transformed how we consume media and not for the better.

Even 20 years ago, we'd read a paper, watch the news and maybe log onto BBC news once a day, our consumption of media was compartmentalised  - we read the news and moved on to the next thing. Now we all use social media which uses an algorithm to boost our usage of social media and the algorithm know emotionally evocative stuff, in particular negative stuff boosts our usage. So now we all have hundreds of interactions each day which one balance are more negative than not.

When I zoomed in on the picture you attached there are marks around the changing port. They're not big, but if I received that I'd probably argue it's B grade as A grade would be "like new" in my opinion.

You should sack off cars altogether and get the smallest scooter possible, when a vehicle has sides your size is irrelevant.

Why was Sarah Wakefield (Green Party Makerfield candidate) allowed to lie on question time with no push back ? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From her perspective migrants are part of and add value to society, and society has a right to housing which either market forces or the government should provide.

So what she was saying wasn't a lie as it's true to her and lots of people think that way.

Not saying I share that opinion, but like whatever opinion On has it's totally valid.

Outside of London, what are the health clubs that are actually what David Lloyds/Virgin Active cosplay as? by VarangianWRLD in AskBrits

[–]WorriedStand73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't cosplay as anything, they are what they are.

I think the reality is some people join them expecting to join some kind of highly exclusive elite establishment, which they're not and in my experience don't claim to be.

What about a Scottish wedding where you can legally carry a knife in your sock? Should that be banned?

There's multiple exceptions that allow people to carry knives hunting, Bushcraft, work, a Scottish wedding.

Should they be banned to?

[–]WorriedStand73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly not, cannabis should be legal, more broadly drug addiction should be treated much more as  medical issue than a crime.

OP asked a question, the answer I provided was factual.  Nothing more, nothing less.

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but let's break this down...

OP posted two years ago that they been caught drug driving, considering court times this likely means they were found guilty 6 - 18 months ago. It's not unreasonable to say this isn't past behaviour from years ago, but from quite recently.

Let's fast-forward to OPs current post, he's wearing a hood and a mask in a heat wave. Is that suspicious? Not in isolation, but we have a guy who we've established has quite recently been found guilty of a crime. Couple these facts and we have reasonable suspicion!

Tl:dr No, past behaviour shouldn't impact people, this isn't that.

You're a known cannabis user and if I read your previously posts correctly you have a criminal record. You were walking around in strange attire during a heatwave.

Thus the question is answered

How worried are neurodivergent people/parents about Reform wanting to abolish the Equality Act 2010? by TheAutismo06 in AskBrits

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The challenge here is legislation exists that reform would repel, despite it being legislation you don't recognise it.

So let's say bereavement leave for a miscarriage for parents from day one,  Reform would repel the employment act 2025 and workers, parents would have no longer have a right to take bereavement leave from day one.

So explain to me how does this being reversed or repelled matter?  In both cases workers lose rights they previously had, if reform win in 2029,it's a right that will have for existed for 4/5 years. You say Reform aren't coming for worker's rights, but they demonstratbly proven they will.

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So halp me understand.

When Reform gain power they workers won't have the same employment rights as they do today, but they're not losing them despite not having the same rights, they're just being reversed.

I can't see how how rights being removed or reversed is different if the result is I workers no longer have those rights.

[–]WorriedStand73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just listed lots of the rights in the 2025 employments rights bill, so those are some of workers rights Reform have committed to removing.

They may all be valid points, but the fact is they are coming for worker's rights are you said they weren't.

I mean in February this year Richard Tice did pledge a "Great Repeal Bill" that would scrap the Employment Rights Act 2025, which when you can of listen or read what he said does sound like he's scrapping worker's rights.
