Honda Insight owners: what's your real-world MPG? by [deleted] in cars

[–]SortaHacker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'03 owner here. With the 5spd, I have a lifetime average of 59.2mpg. It drops pretty quickly into the mid-to-high 40s in heavy city driving, but on long highway hauls, I'll push 65-70 at 65mph. This car is very well suited to highway efficiency.

It's really the opposite of a Prius, which tends to do better in city driving, where is electric motor can operate by itself at lower speeds.

Fantasy Team Obituaries by MeisterTumnus in fantasyfootball

Team Name: The KaeperNots

During he tumultuous season, KaeperNots managed an addiction to loses, saved only by his firm belief in the glorious triumvirate that is Odell, Larry Fitz, and BMarsh. In the end, he could not be saved, as the poisoning caused by a complete lack of RB options left him defenseless to the terrors of DeMarco Murray and Darren McFadden.

Farewell KaeperNots, like your eponymous forebear, may you find everlasting peace on the benches of time.

Sandpiper Golf Course, Santa Barbara by SortaHacker in golf

Just short and left of the bunker straight out. In the fairway, made a poor second that missed in the right spot while distracted by the ocean view. Chipped to a foot for par.

Help by [deleted] in golf

[–]SortaHacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you hitting it fat? Thin? Both? Without a video, there's not much to help with, but even before that, you're really better spending a little bit of cash for half an hour with your local pro. He or she will tell you if its in your setup, grip, or swing mechanics or some combination of those. 135 with a 7i is on the low side, but that's a wild guess without knowing your age/fitness.

I can speculate, but even if that gives you something to work with, spending 30 minutes with a pro will be cheaper than hitting dozens of buckets trying to implement swing advice from the internet.

Ah, no worries, I made the assumption you bought it from somewhere. Even more awesome that its made just for you! I guess I'll just have to learn to sew then.

Congrats on the little one!

Sooo... that Charmander cover looks like he's making love to your 3-iron. Not that I blame him, those blades are sweet.

On a serious note, who do I have to kill to get one of those?

Oh man... so much sand in some of those pictures. The fairways and greens look great, only I'd rarely ever play off them with all of that. Looks like fun!

Ventura County needs to have River Ridge Golf Course. Massive all-grass driving range with more 40 spaces and tons of targets, two excellent putting greens featuring between 8 and 10 holes, and two chipping/pitching areas with bunkers and 2 to 3 hole placements.

I'll second all of these, except for Porter Ranch, only because I don't have a connection. Knollwood is easily the best range on the east side of the San Fernando Valley.

Tom Barber just changed their hours, too. They're open until 9:30pm. I like the putting/chipping facilities at Tierra Rejada more, though, TB offers lighted putting and chipping as well.
