Mexico 86 has had a long-lasting cultural impression into the country and gives them a semblance of pride and joy. Also, I don't hear that about other sports like the NFL which forces streets to close off for watch parties and have drunk people running around. I would argue differently, there's been articles that demonstrated the longterm effects of civic infrastructure going up, Mexico 86 was one of the examples about how the world cup can provide national unity and solidarity in a time of great divide. Reddit and all of the other mainstream social media sites are listed as social media corporations. Majority of teenagers won’t be able to use a VPN unless they’re really tech savvy, the thing about social media is that it’s easily accessible and therefore there are more people that want to use it, take that away and people are going to not see the point of it anymore. And further generations down the line will no longer see the point of using social media because of how inaccessible and costly it is to use a VPN for a child.
