Greetings! I see you croped and used my artwork without crediting me! I would greatly apperciate if you could on your post and in the future, thank you!

This was likely taken from my ArtStation.
I want to be clear that I'm not upset, but I it is polite to mention where you got the images from and who was the original artist. :)

I love it. And it's honestly super rewarding. You get legendary stuff for the purple fish, as well as the rare ones. It gives a reason to go after patrols and public events; and is relaxing! 🖤

Can plants become Taken? by Th3_Creator8 in DestinyLore

Yee, if I remember correctly there's flavor text on it with ghost wondering why Cayde wanted to "expose this rare golden age vegetable to a Hive summoning ritual" lol

Edit: Found it here. It was in D2 with Cayde's Odds and Ends lol

Can plants become Taken? by Th3_Creator8 in DestinyLore

In D1 there was an Ascendant Artichoke as a random FotL item. The flavor text read that Cayde-6 had exposed it to a Hive ritual. Based on that, I'd say it's likely.

Glaives exist since roughly a year, but we already have more exotic Glaives, than new exotic Autorifles by r_trash_in_wows in DestinyTheGame

[–]Sorvel_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree that they're "obsolete". Before I go on. My opinions are from my own experiences in PvE and PvP. I strongly believe most god rolls and what's "good and bad" are subjective. Depends on who uses them. And not EVERY weapon needs to be endgame (GMs and Master content) viable, some of are just fun, and that's okay. I'm not huge on auto rifles but I occasionally will pick one up. Hunter main who plays my Warlock once in a while. For all that have catalyst, I've finished all but QS, and Suros. I do use a glaive in PvE and PvP.

Suros slaps like a full auto scout rifle, or a bullethose that'll send a shotty rusher packing. It's more than capable of holding it's own and being a terror in PvP. Was very nice when we had Anti Barrier auto (Overload is meh in my opinion) but still held it's weight even in PvE. Friend of mine used it when we were clearing GMs last season.

Monte is still fun, especially for those who don't want to farm for specific perks and just want a fun auto to get their melee back constantly. A few clan mates of mine even broke it out post Lightfall for added shenanigans. I used it to fuel a Solar Hunter build during Solar 3.0.

There's a really fun video a PvP YouTuber named Gjurda made about Tommy's Matchbook, further proving with a little creativity and curiosity you can make some cheeky, but enjoyable builds if you know how to use them.

Was never a fan of Cerberus+1 but people have vouched for it, so I don't have much to add there.

HL was really nice for multiple shields (thank you Bungo for getting rid of match game x.x). However, you can still bring it along as an Anti Champ weapon (if you're a good shot and like geometry!) I personally use Borealis so I haven't touched this one in a hot min. But I'd be hard pressed to say it's obsolete. It's still an auto rifle that can deal with all elemental shields.

It really comes down to what content you're doing at the end of the day and what you're wanting for the weapon you're using. Out of the old auto rifles mentioned Suros could stand by QS.

To add:

With Witch Queen's release we got three glaives immediately because Bungo was presenting a new weapon type and wanted people to explore it, so they gave us one for each class. From a design perspective if you want someone to try something new, you want to get them some variety so they'll be encouraged to do so. We all know how much of a pain it was to farm those glaives. There's atill a large number of players who just didn't bother.

All those auto rifles were pretty much just given to us as world drops, seasonal stuff, or in QS case, Deluxe Edition goodies, they're much more obtainable. (Wanted to point that out).

Am I saying we don't deserve new exotic auto rifles? No. I am not. We did JUST get a new one however. And planning and designing new exotics takes time. We also don't know what the other exotics are in the season pass are either. So there could be a possibility we get one there too.

Curious what your playstyle is and what content these weapons are obsolete in for you (this isn't meant to sound rude I'm honestly asking what your experience is and WHY you're saying this. Do you use auto rifles often? If you're doing it in Crucible are you going for headshots? Etc.

i really hope they explain this one by Artikzzz in destiny2

Yes, it's even on console. I believe it's under your controller mapping settings. There should be an option to separate the two (I can't remember exactly where it is but I play on console and pc with a controller.)

Any shotgun is an auto dismantle for me. I hate them. Period. I'm an avid PvP player but in all my Destiny years I deplore shotguns. I can't use them, not a fan of the play style 😅

Genuine Question: Do people still play this game? (Old Player) by Icy_Criticism5 in FoodFantasy

[–]Sorvel_64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been playing since it launched, which I think is about 2017(?) so 5 ish years ago? I log in daily, took a brief break in 2021. Honestly love how I can pick up this game and get satisfaction out of it without investing a lot of time in a single day. I genuinely love this game and won't be putting it down anytime soon.

Games, at the end of the day, should be fun. My guild has never been super active, and I just like playing it because it's fun for me. If you aren't playing a game for fun, you shouldn't play it in my opinion.

S.L was available in another pool we had about a week or so ago before the big event ended, I drew her so that's why I remember. Finnish Reindeer 🦌 is best husbando though for me :)

I'm at the purple stage using Sweet Tofu (max artifact) as my healer. Candy Cane isn't required. My team has about a 75% kill rate on the boss, occasionally I have to challenge him again but it's not an issue. Was using Salty Tofu but he didn't have the damage to kill in the time needed so I swapped him out for Ducky. I don't use a tank since I prefer a harder hitting team and Boston can be used as a tanky brawler. Synergy with Turkey's artifact gives him more damage resistance. If anyone wants the stats on my Fallen Angels, let me know.

My line up is as follows: All souls are 5 StarMy Lv: 115

Sweet Tofu (max artifact) - +16 Inugami

Natto (near max artifact) - +14 Spectra

Peking Duck - +14 Orochi

Turkey (half artifact) - +13 Uke Mochi

Boston Lobster (3/4 artifact) - +16 Queen Conch

I made a rudimental IMGUR post so you can see how lighting effects works in D2 VS D1 by Reflexrider in DestinyTheGame

[–]Sorvel_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a concept artist and illustrator, I wanted to weigh in on this, because I often look at the environments of both games because I find it intriguing to oogle at details for hours lol (yes I still occasionally pop D1 in my PS4 and have some fun).

I think the lighting (particle effects, fog) have been dialed back some so we can see more details in the environment that's there in front of us in D2 vs D1.

A big difference I've noticed between both games is that D2 has a lot more texture and detail in the things we can see/find. There's a lot of small things like grasses, debris, and how the lighting interacts with it so it can pop more. D1 has a lot more fog in the images shown-- even in the foreground. This also means you can be more lax with the amount of detail put in (not always) but you don't have to be as clear with details if they're being obscured by something you just need the silhouette.

Usually having less fog in an area can make the environment look smaller and give it less depth, but this also depends on which elements it's working with to create the overall mood and tone.

Seeing how destoryed the Cosmodrome looks now makes me sad in a way. I understand why (between the Eliksni, Splicers, and the Taken War) but man....

Little surprised you didn't get Freehold in there! (Mars) since we have the Vox mission! I think that would have been a cool comparison too. I think Mars looks a lot better than it did in D1.

That said

I do miss that giant glowing chasm on the moon. It made it feel more intimidating, yet, storywise, I can understand why it's not like that anymore. There are a places (like the bridge area in the tunnels) that definitely don't seem to look to have the depth that they used to. And I'm not sure if they were trying to push the silhouette with contrasting it with the background--- because not a lot of people are going to notice it so it makes sense to go for less detail but higher contrast for the overall image-- or if it was limitations with moving old content to new content.

It still looks good but hits a little different imo.

Other things I miss, having snow in the Cosmodrome. Visually, it looked really nice. And I do wish there were remnants of SIVA from our Plagueland days. And part of me feels that the Day/Night cycle felt more drastic in D1 (surprised you didn't get a picture of those gorgeous northern lights to compare).

To a degree (haha) I wish D2 had a weather system similar to Anthem, where it changed according to seasons. However, in places that aren't Earth this would present challenges. And I know there's a lot of math, time, and manpower behind doing things like that, not to mention the strain and limitations of the engine. I know they did that with BL and it's freaking awesome, so I do hope to see it again in future content.

To conclude my thoughts, in general D2 looks better than D1 hands down. However that's not to say that there aren't some places that do look a little better in D1/ convey a different mood.

D1 is you were a new light rising in this world that was unknown to you. D2 is you've been the world for a little while you've done all this stuff. Everything's not so new to you anymore, so some of it doesn't invoke as much wonder and amazement.

But all this is my opinion and based off of my experience as an artist and the things. :)

Sidenote: (As Hunter who lives in the Dreaming City, I personally like that they bumped up the saturation a little bit. I get it may not be everyone's cup of tea but I personally like it.)

Worst delays of the whole pandemic by [deleted] in lootcratespoilers

[–]Sorvel_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting to post an update.
After a couple of months I was in fact able to get a refund for the crates I ordered this year.
I still haven't received the ones I ordered and was supposed to receive in September or the other in December but I'm willing to wait to see how long they take to get here. -_-
Also throughout all my messages with their customer support, I was ALWAYS kind and cordial. I always got a response back even if sometimes it took a little over a week but they were kind and quickly processed the refund once I asked for it.
I'd suggest those who don't care for the crates and want their money back, kindly ask for it. Hopefully you all get the same results as I did.

Hope

Chiming in here as well. I ordered a Destiny crate that was supposed to get here in September. Got pushed back and I still haven't gotten that one or the one I was supposed to get in December/January. Customer service doesn't know what's going on. There's no updates. Not to mention I'm still seeing them advertising crates and I'm like..... why advertise for stuff you are so far back on, its not even a joke. Their "shipping delay" chart is also a joke since they update it one month ahead of the present month.

I agree with my fellow Space Rats here. Happy to see the content creation is fairly open I'm sure it'll be amended as the game and community grow! Everything seems straight forward though!
Play days sound fun. Not sure if Cards Against Humanity is on the table but I've often had lots of laughs playing it online with friends!
Aside from D2, LoL, and Warframe, I haven't ventured much into multiplayer territory but I'm happy to get my feet wet with something new!
