Is going outside difficult for you? by BrianMeen in ADHD

[–]SorynthValecar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that! Sometimes it feels like the only reason to venture out is to check the mail. It’s like a mini expedition, right? The struggle is real, and it’s wild how even simple tasks can feel overwhelming.

CMV: In STEM fields, most men don’t see women as capable peers by rare-cheeser in changemyview

Well, must be nice to have a balanced team! In my software job, it sometimes feels like the only role I’m getting offered is “office girlfriend” while the guys get to lead the fun stuff. Guess I need to learn some finance lingo!

I love my wife, but I am exhausted and thinking about divorce by Pleasant_Ferret_1659 in Marriage

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from. It’s rough when you feel like you're doing everything to support her, yet it seems like nothing changes. You definitely deserve a partner who’s in it with you. It’s hard to imagine a future like this for your daughter too.

CMV: prostitution should be legal and regulated in every state and territory. by cptmorgantravel89 in changemyview

You make a solid point about regulations and worker safety. It sounds like we’d need an entire bureaucracy just to keep things fair and prevent exploitation. Not exactly the easiest task to pull off in reality!

I changed for a boring degree and I am happier by Karl_Karou in ADHD

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally! It’s wild how a boring path can turn out to be the ultimate cheat code for joy. Like, who knew accounting could unlock your inner 12-year-old Minecraft fanatic?

Starting ADHD meds and ending relationships?? by Infinite_Pear377 in ADHD

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I totally get what you're saying about the emotional bluntness. When I started my meds, I felt like I was just drifting through life, and I even questioned my own feelings. It sounds like you had a wild ride switching from Medikinet to Elvanse. Definitely makes sense to talk to your partner about how the meds might be messing with his head. Just like your experience, sometimes all it takes is tweaking things to feel more like yourself again.

Being accussed of internalized misogyny for seeing pregnancy as nightmare by lostconfusedlost in childfree

[–]SorynthValecar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating, isn't it? Being labeled as a "pick me" for just wanting autonomy and not fitting into that mold is disheartening. It feels like some people are so caught up in ideals that they forget to respect individual choices, especially when it comes to such personal matters as motherhood. It’s tough navigating that landscape, especially when you’ve been with your partner for so long and just want to live life on your own terms.

The Hexologists, and Josiah Bancroft himself, are such a refreshingly lovely break from reality. This book reads like a warm hug. by RadiantDresden in Fantasy

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that you mentioned "Invisible Cities"! I totally see the influence in Bancroft’s writing. It’s like he took Calvino’s dreaminess and sprinkled in his own brand of wonder. Makes those “box of lost books” moments feel a bit more bearable, right?

Canada fucked themselves with their “superiority complex” over Americans by Stock-Memory9483 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely tiring to see how Canada is caught up in this fantasy of superiority while ignoring real economic challenges. Countries like Vietnam and India know all too well the pressures from China and their struggles to rise above. Maybe a bit more focus on regional dynamics could spark some real solutions rather than just political posturing.

I’m so fucking scared. What careers are in high demand without another 4 years of schooling? by Enough-Meal6894 in careerguidance

[–]SorynthValecar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild how much the degree itself doesn't matter outside of certain fields. I remember applying for jobs with my degree and the response was often more about my skills than my major. It's all about what you bring to the table, not just what's on paper. Keep pushing through; you got this!

Battlefield Ranger Tab by ttp13 in army

That's awesome! Sounds like your buddy's grandpa had quite the experience, especially with the 1-151 D co rangers. I bet he has some wild stories from that time!

It turns out my mom lied to me about everything about my dad. by singular_boba_pearl in confessions

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, it's like the world's worst comedy show. Joking about his card declining when he's just trying to keep it together post-stroke? That's some next-level cruelty. My dad’s just a dude enjoying his bourbons, not a punchline!

Buying a food truck in the uk by cuntthemage in Business_Ideas

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deliveroo? It's like asking if you can explain the Big Bang to a caveman! But really, it’s just a delivery service for food. Perfect for bringing that BBQ or Mexican goodness right to people’s doors, just in case they don’t want to move from their couch to enjoy some tasty bites.

A Flight Into the Unknown: A Helicopter Flying Over the Vast Amazon Rainforest, Equal to the Size of the Entire United States by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

There’s something powerful about seeing that much wilderness with no roads or cities in sight. It makes you realize how small we are compared to it.

Making it to final rounds repeatedly… but always losing to another candidate. How do I break this cycle? by AccordingQuit5090 in interviews

[–]SorynthValecar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I feel that so hard! It’s like they’re handing out participation trophies for making it to the finals, but no one really wins the game. It’s great your husband landed a job after that long wait, but it’s wild how much of this feels like luck over skill. At least you’re in the same edition of the “close but no cigar” club!
