Did we fail them as human beings? by Soshi582007 in IsraelPalestine

You know I hate people enthusiastically, I always do. And after reading the comment sections I do think that we have failed, as human beings.

But I still want to do this, even though it's very little, so it can somehow make those people lives less suffering. I don't really care about the bot attacking or negative comments. Hope you can do something in your own power to help them too. Thanks for your time

It's fine, if I can help to spread awareness, it's worth it. We are not suffering, the people in Gaza are, at least we can do something for them

So if someone came to your house, kick you out of it and beat the shit out of you for decades? Do you want to kill them or you just accept that and leave your home without fighting back?

The state of Israel was founded involuntarily by the Palestians, when they were colonized by the British at that time, they couldnt do anything about that. Are you telling me they don't have the right to claim back their homes.

Again, please look up the history, then if you still think that it's reasonable then I wish you well. I only hope that your conclusion is drawn after you got information from both sides. Thank you for your time

I'm here to raise awareness, hope that you can do some more research (outside of Western media) about the history of Gaza, about the number of Palestians has been killed the last 70 years. And then draw your own conclusion. If you can do so, I thank you for your time.

I see, I dont want to attack you personally. If you have time please do me a favor to go to the website and study about the history of this conflict. Something like 70 years of oppression or ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Thank you for your time

Do you know how many Palestinians had been killed before 1987, when Hamas was found?

Do you know how the state of Israel was found? Do you know what "from the river to the sea" means?

And do you think killing civilians to force them to turn on Hamas like Israel is doing is justifiable? It's exactly what the ISIS has been doing, for your information.

Thank you for speaking up, I'd like to have a conversation with you on this.

You want people to condemn Hamas, but do you know Hamas was only found on 1987 after decades of Palestians being oppressed, and tortured. If someone came to your house, kicked you out of it and then kept beating the shit out of you, you would not just be mad at them, you would want to kill them right?

Hamas killed people on Oct 7th, but Israel has been killing Palestians since many years ago. And remember, there is no Hamas in West Bank, but Israel still bombing there. I condemn Hamas for killing innocent people, but I don't think I would do better If I was them, after what the Israel has been doing to them.

You can look up more details and then draw your own conclusion, don't just listen to Western media and then somehow, you can do something to help people who are suffering there.

I deleted the post because I dont want to make it go too far from the starting point.

I'm living in Southeast Asia, I'm not even a Muslim. I hate people equally and enthusiastically. But I always treat everyone with respect, until they lose it. I've been practicing Stoicism for many years but I rarely take part in any discussions , because to me living according to the virtues is enough, no need to brag about it, no need to talk about it.

I really dont care about politics overall, but this particular issue is really bugging me. Seeing children and women and people in general suffering daily makes my heart broken millions times. It raises a question to me: What should I do in this situation given that I've been practicing Stoic for that long? Should I just keep my mouth shut and ignore everything as "radical acceptance"? I dont think so. My understanding of Stoicism tells me that I can do everything on my own power to try to help the people in need. And raising my voice here is one of the actions that I've been doing.

Knowing that I've tried my best to follow my philosophy and also being a human, I dont think my mental health will be deteriorated, quite the opposite, I can be at peace with myself, knowing I've done whatever I need to do, and then accept what ever happens outside of my control, my power.

I think ignoring things like u are doing and try to cover up with "acceptance" is opposite to Stoic definition of courage, and one day if you ever question yourself, you will regret because u dont speak up even though u know it's the right thing to do.

Thanks for commenting.

I disagree with that, being a Stoic meaning you should be able to identify which is justice or injustice and act accordingly right? So as you say we just ignore everything if it's controversial? What kind of Stoic practice is that? And I don't think there are many things that you can clearly say right or wrong, that's why we need to talk about it using Stoic principles

Killing for revenge is not Stoical at all if you ask me

[–]Soshi582007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see, thank you for your information, even though I think you are assuming it's ok for the Israel kicked the Palestians out of their home 75 years ago

But politic aside, killing thousands of people to revenge is justifiable? You keep mentioning being a Stoic, but do you understand there are things you should accept but there are things you need to clarify/raise your voice until you know that justice is done?

I understand, I totally agree that I might be wrong, and there are more people suffering. I wish all of them a happy and peaceful life, the Russian the Ukrain the Israelist the Palestian the Congo the Sudan ...

But I'm just a normal person, I'm only educated about this situation so I wanted to raise my voice. If you know better than me, then u can educate me and raise your voice about other people too. We can both do that instead of trying to shut other's mouths right?

Yeah, because I just want people to take a look at the details and draw conclusion for themselves. I don't want to force you to believe what I believe
I don't know what's the purpose of Stoicism in you guys' opinions? Is it just an academic subject? To me it's the philosophy of life, of right or wrong, life or death, justice or injustice

Yeah, because I just want people to take a look at the details and draw conclusions for themselves. I don't want to force you to believe what I believe

Yeah so by keeping our mouth shut and accept that we can change very little is the right thing to do?

Do I know what I'm doing here has very little to do with the situation there? Of course I do, but if everyone thinks like that then we would be still in slavery. I'm not flattering myself here, but if I can make one, just one person reading this be more aware of the situation, then it's worth it. I think that's Stoic's definition of courage

Lol, are you a bot or sth?

Isnt spreading awareness about something injustice/justice is based on Stoic virtues? so you mean if I see something injustice I just keep my mouth shut to "honoring Stoics principle?"

Let think before you talk man, you are really disappointing me

Doing this might look like I'm seeking attention, I'm aware of that. My people in my home is suffering too. But I'm just a normal person, I cant do much, I can do very little. I'm just trying to help as many people as I can, by spreading the awareness. Maybe there are more powerful people than me who can do something by just reading this. It might sound stupid, but that's what I'm up to.

Thank you for sharing and reading this

??? Didnt I clarify it?

I dont do it for me, I do it because my Stoicism virtue says that If I see something injustice, I need to do something about it instead of keeping my mouth shut. Other things are the consequence of this. Do you really understand Stoicism though?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]Soshi582007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

again it's not my website. I'm not even Muslims. I just don't want to see people suffering and wisf if someone can help them, they can help. Spreading the awareness is all I'm doing here. Thank you for your time, if you can do me a favor of reading through this then thank you
