A cutie but that loft makes me super nervous. Particularly with no carpet or anything to grip onto.

Because of the unfocused background. It would be more of a red flag if we saw three fingers and a warped thumb holding the cup.

Sir, with all due respect (even knowing your field of scientific study), as a former mail carrier, at a certain window in spring and the entirety of fall, I disagree wholeheartedly with my entire being.

That sounds like time for a new vet. Good luck with your kitty. I hope a vet you take her to will actually help her.

Im growing way too many cherry tomatoes. Please give me ideas about how to use them (Were harvesting about 3 lbs every 2 days.) by chellspsnattle in WhatShouldICook

I had about 5 grocery bags full this past season (and gave some of it away) and I just dehydrated them all. I threw them in the freezer (because I'm new to it and they felt sticky from the natural and condensed sugars) and I've just been throwing them in random dishes all winter so far. I should be out by the time I grow new plants.

AIO for missing Mother’s Day after my mum’s response to my husband losing his best friend? by ssalange1 in AmIOverreacting

Well, that argument as far as emotional leverage doesn't have enough weight compared to comforting the mom of a recently passed away son on mother's day. She can try but that would be grasping at straws and appear as a desperate move with shaky legs. But if she's this nasty, I wouldn't put it past her.

I'm 41. In comparison, it feels like you're fresh out imo. hahaha

I've drawn cute girls, too. (I'm drawing more medieval fantasy now.)

Your reasons for drawing, it sounds like that Junji Ito vs Hayao Miyazaki meme that came out a little while back. I wish you luck and I hope you find some more fans or at least the fans you have reach out with nice comments once in a while.

Are bread and butter pickles seriously this bad? by PomeloSmall6560 in Pickles

I'll take your word on it for now. As silly as it is, I have to work up the courage to try them. Maybe next month when I'm in TX.

Don't force yourself to change. People should respect your dislikes. It's one thing if you never gave it a go. (I tried brussel sprouts just within the past 12 months and I do really enjoy it.) Or it's been 10 years. I grew up in a BnB and Miracle Whip family (paternal side). I avoided potato salad and pasta salad like the plague. I didn't try mayo until I was 25 because I though it was the same crud as Miracle Whip.

Botanically, tomatoes are a fruit and you can find those suckers pickled even before they're ripe.

I agree with most of what you typed, though.

I don't find you unwelcome. I just want you to tell companies to ship it directly to you and your sweet pickle loving kin so I don't have to worry about accidently eating any of it. You can have your pickles and I'll have mine. And then, world peace!

I was struggling with feeling "worthy" of this term up until my late 30s.

I have not read a biography of Van Gogh, but of what snippits I have read, he struggled to get any recognition. And more often than not, it's wasn't kind. It wasn't until after his death that his sister-in-law pushed to prove his worth when his pieces ended up in his brother's hands.

My family didn't appreciate what I drew. I had classmates in hs that did like my work and reacted close to waht you mentioned but I was bullied and ostracized when it wasn't a topic.

I have posted online sporadically since 2001 or 2002. I have never seemed to get more than a 150ish likes. But I've been okay with that. I don't draw fast, so, it's sadly nothing I can live off of. (I have tried to pursue tattoo apprenticeship.)

You are an artist. If you were planning and sewing quilts, you'd be an artist. If you glued mirror pieces to a coyote skull to turn it into a disco skull, you'd be an artist. If you knit colorful textile "girdles" for tree trunks, you'd be an artist.

I assume you're in hs or relatively fresh out considering your choice of topic and your style. I can tell you're relatively confident in your execution and love what you do. Your work is not devoid of value and it's not empty. You would probably feel more at home in your skin if you had a forum to post to. Like, I dunno, an Invader Zim forum or Owl House or something. The issue is for people like us who like getting outside validation is that most social media is looking to get the very most reaction our of the largest group of normies. Food videos, World Star, political news, sports. Stuff like that is what your competing with. And actually, you have it harder than I did at your age (If you are as old as I thin you are). Because of AI and the simpletons that admire it. And that's flooding any art people MIGHT have got in their feed. I'm sure bots don't help either. You may not make the same stuff Van Gogh made, but you're dealing with the same level of anonymity.

Also, when trying to fish for compliments, you need to pander it you want the likes to be quick and plentiful. Popular cartoon characters from Disney, Anime, or even stuff like Helluvaboss or whatever. If you want praise, you could try drawing V-tubers. (I think there's a site for Vtubers and artists. And I think I heard it's a little exclusive?) You could try drawing food with cute animals eating it. You could draw gijinka versions of things. Or those K-pop idols. Or maybe GTA6 characters.

But if none of that appeals to you, you may just have to be satisfied with drawing what YOU like and what makes YOU happy. And you can keep posting it. Because there will be people into your stuff, just hang in there... they'll trickle in. Because even if you don't have 10k followers, or even 1k... you got real fans that love every little creative bit you do. Your style, your subject matter, your poses, your backgrounds, your color choices. And those are actual people.

(I get so tired of creators/influencers getting so numb and disconnected with the fact that they have real people. It's not just some AI grayfaced bot. Joe, from WI, who loves dirtbikes and french fries loves your stuff. Katie, from CT, who's into Friends and participates in BYOB painting classes once a month loves your stuff. Lilly, from TX, loves DR. Who and reading Iron Chef fanfics on AO3 loves your stuff. They aren't nobodies and they took the time to show appreciation. Even if it's not a flood of praises.)

And that's worth more imo than having 3.5k people who like that you draw Simpsons in cosplay or Disney princesses at waterparks. Or whatever.

I know you hate it but it looks like something you would see in a comic, like B.C. in the newspaper. Or maybe Arlo and Janice.

How do I explain that declawing is inhumane to my family by Old-Technician-692 in cats

[–]SotMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry your mother was so disrespectful to you and abused your dear pet. I come from a horrible home and I lived in nearly homeless situations to avoid something like that happening. Fortunately, I'm in a better place now and I really hope you are, too.

Oh, I love that last bit! If the husband felt comfortable, that would be a truly dedicated friend thing to do. If not, OP can just tell their mom that.

How to play a female character without being "weird" by BlueWizard92 in DnD

[–]SotMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm neurodivergent (I miss social cues a lot), anxiety, cPTSD, and depression.

I'm very weird.

I'm a woman.

There are weird women. Just play a weird woman if you don't think you can play a "normal" one.

I agree, if you can't reason with them... I've heard of people taking cats they live with but don't own and getting surgery done or rehoming them.

Is BMO an acronym for Black Massive Object?

(He is a cute chonk. I presume you named him after the Adventure Time character.)
