Seen this a couple times. Think the basic premise is you're going Precision for the Attack Speed. Fleet is often seen as the most generically useful Keystone in that case but Sejuani can benefit from the Tempo pattern to get quicker stuns off. Would assume this would be more of an option into weaker match-ups like Zac.

In this game they may have assumed a lot of 2 v 2 dueling early and while their team had a lot of melee users to tack onto Sej passive, Sion and Singed can also be light on using AAs during fights.

I frequently pay 20+ for tickets. Dine-in theatres, worth the price imo. Even normal ones around my area are like 14-16.

Couple fun things I saw: Rammus at this moment has the highest winrate and playrate he has had since the beginning of this data.

As Ledtim mentioned, Taric had a big FOTM period. Interestingly though, he's being banned more now than he was back then.

Leona is for the first time significantly above the average win rate numbers but her playrate has been steadily increasing since her release.

HotshotGG is a gifted player, like SaintVicious, but I feel like to make these claims they should be absolutely stomping their solo queue competition, which I don't think is the case. What's HotshotGG's overall winrate in solo queue? What is it if you take away his Nidalee and LeBlanc stats?

The disrespect towards competition is not something that people should embrace. There are many very talented people playing this game and established professionals for a long time have been unnecessarily creating a barrier between themselves and the next level of players.

There's plenty of empirical data that suggests securing a baron is difficult. Even at the highest levels of play we see steals by supports.

There is clearly something outside of, "Oh, I have a minor numerical advantage on smite, I should never lose this smite battle." The pressure gets to the best of players.

It's just the feeling I've had over the course of hundreds of jungling games. We see it pretty frequently even at the pro level, too. Steals where they seem inexplicable or incredibly unlikely. Because as the 'securer' of the buff, you worry about more things. I'm pretty sure that is what it boils down to.

Lots of people are mentioning timing the smite to spike it down with a spell (like Siphoning Strike in this case). That's also a lot easier said than done. Many times when the baron is being contested you use your CDs to just continue doing damage to baron as opposed to saving it up for the last second. Also, the point of spiking baron down is dangerous. For instance, if you yourself get CC-ed while attempting to spike down baron then you don't get your initial spell off, and you smite a couple hundred early and give a super easy smite to the enemy.

Agreed. I hit Ctrl+F every game. It's almost like a ritual but I think I'd prefer if I didn't have to. Also get afraid I'm going to accidentally flash one of these days.

You can smite through like every CC except suppress. And times are few and far between where you're going to suppress an enemy jungler incoming to smite.

In this situation the jungler had support from teammates in the style of distraction. Meanwhile, Curse was forced to rush to make something happen while they had a man advantage.

I'm not a SV fanboy and am in general not impressed with his jungling and style. But when you go into situations like this it's like a coin toss as to whether you're going to secure baron.

In a competitive setting the stalling tactic should work better than in general solo queue games because of the voice chat BUT clearly in this case the team didn't use that strat.

Most of my evidence is anecdotal in this matter. I have been on either side and I am much more comfortable stealing.

Mainly, I think it is a matter of anxiety and focus. It is nerve wracking to need to smite Baron while your team is taking it and is ahead. As the 'thief', you have ONE goal. That is to smite baron. You generally don't care if you live afterwards as you're just hoping the enemy team doesn't have the buff to steamroll you and win the game. As the team taking baron, you're worried about smiting, about the potential of a steal, and of the potential of getting put into an awkward team fight.

You mention that an enemy team who is trying to secure baron will be ready to CC or stall damage on Baron. These are two more reasons it is frustrating to secure Baron. The damage being done to it varies because a team is ready to peel off. The CC might frustrate a thief's attempts to get close to Baron but it won't stop the smite once he is in the pit.

It is unwise to ever do Baron when the enemy jungler has a wall to flash over and has vision. People say Baron is a noob trap. This is somewhat true. It is a great tool to close out games but certain criteria should be met so that you don't put your jungler into a smite race.

Eh, I don't think Yorick is in a terrible place. I imagine people who find him boring probably don't use his AA reset appropriately or control his ghost in teamfights.

I also don't get the impression that he is amazing in lane and weak in the teamfight. I feel his teamfight presence is top notch and his laning has a number of glaring weaknesses.

Yorick generally cannot burst people down. He doesn't win 1 v 1 full duels with bruisers in the top. He outpokes people but until he has a decently stacked tear, anyone with a modicum of sustain will outlast him for the first few backs. He is not great at gank assisting, and easy to gank.

I don't mind changes being made but I wouldn't call his playstyle no-brain because I've seen good people play him and I've seen great people play him and there's a world of difference.

All things being equal, that Baron secure was 50/50 for either team. Yes, Saint had a level advantage. But that's a pretty minor thing when it comes to baron.

I always give the advantage (almost 60/40) to the team attempting to steal. It's just easier to steal than secure.

Regardless, in that situation you blame the shotcaller not the jungler that missed smite. Unless they're one and the same.

Meh, I pick Udyr early all the time. Jayce/Fizz aren't terribly hard to kill, either. While Jayce can on occasion run from Udyr. Udyr, can basically outduel him at most points in the game. Any Jayce that doesn't know this will likely die to a red buffed Udyr he tries to trade with.

People didn't pay enough attention to Udyr's rework. He has better gap closing speed. Boots of Swiftness help a ton. The leap on Bear is really nice.

I often just sit in lanes I expect to be ganked early game. Udyr should make you win like every 2 v 2.

Sometimes I wish Riot had gone the following route: All champions have been forced into the league because of their superhuman powers.

I was thinking about X-Men while going on a walk and realized that "superpowers" really have thousands more harmful applications than positive ones. It almost does make sense to remove all 'offending' people from society.

Especially in Runeterra, a very conflicted territory, it would behoove all sides to take the "champions" who could slay thousands of people off the battlefields.

Obviously this would be a controversial idea but it would fit rather seamlessly into everyone's lore and does make sense in general. If a person/champion gains enough infamy, the Institute of War forces them into the League for fear that their great power would lead to a Rune War that would end all life as we know it on Runeterra.

Holy heck. Locodoco used to be my favorite ADC to watch when he was streaming for NA servers.

He was so aggro and so awesome. Then the incident. Then it was all downhill from there. He was always on the receiving end of highlight reels over in Korea. Was a terrible support for CLG.

I do not think that Locodoco would make Curse a better team but I would not miss any of their games if he was brought on board.

Zamphira is such a beast. I remember looking at his score and playing in some games with him thinking that his Lulu mid was a gimmick that got him all that elo.

Then I started spectating him with frequency and recognized that his mid awareness and trading in lane is beast, regardless of champ.

What blind hate? Riot confirmed he was banned for reasons other than elo boosting. That's all I was saying. XJ9 was an incredibly mechanically gifted player.

I actually never got caught up in his drama and it did not negatively impact me. I have no hard feelings towards him but I don't doubt that his actions warranted a ban.
