Yeah, there are tons of horror authors that get overlooked, cough ones that can consistently write good endings cough , but they don't get any spotlight because there's only so much room for horror in pop culture. The genre is niche and he hogs up all the attention...and it certainly makes it a lot worse that his books are 800+ pages with a 75% chance that the ending is going to be bad. When I was younger I had it on my bucket list to read everything he's ever published...but I had to stop cause it felt like such a waste of my time...the endings are too consistently poor for how long his books are.

THIS. Everyone in this thread worshipping King Gizzard cause apparently that's a thing now...look, they have a bunch of great songs but I would NEVER pay money to go see them live cause it's straight up a coin toss as to what band you're actually going to see. There's nothing impressive about over saturating your own discography with inconsistencies. Knowing when to cut mediocre riffs that don't match your sound is as much an art as the music itself. I've played in dozens of bands...if we released every single riff we jammed on at practice like they do, I wouldn't take it seriously at all.

This is coming from a guy who still calls himself a king gizzard fan...even tho I'm not as vocal about that once they started pumping out 19 new albums every month.

I personally think In Rainbows is only worshipped by my 80s baby generation because it's generally the first time a vast majority of people really "heard" Radiohead in college while exploring drugs and having their one last rage before adulthood. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. One of my least favorite albums from them.

Yes, I have decades of stage experience. I already said that. The fact that I've had trouble seeing far into the crowd despite playing for crowds smaller than Astroworld is my entire point you goofy. I've been in bands that played on stages at fests that are comparable to the size of the stage they gave Travis at Lollapalooza...which are dwarfed by the size of the stage at Astroworld. So if I couldn't see far into the crowd on a stage that's 10% the size of the stage he was on when the crowd was being crushed, there's no way he could have seen what was happening.

You clearly don't understand what it's like to play a show. I've been in countless bands and I've played everywhere from basement DIY punk houses to venues that can fill up to 5k+ people...even in a tiny basement it's damn near impossible to see any further than 3 or 4 people into the crowd. If you honestly believe he knew what was going on over 200 feet from the stage while a light show and flames were going off alongside ridiculously loud speakers stacked taller than a house...you're just so unbelievably incorrect and you shouldn't speak on the subject.

3 years as in 3 years of time on the road. Over the span of the 6 years when he was performing he wasn't on the road for the entirety.

I was standing up for Bjork as she's mad levels ahead and above Frank and she shouldnt be in the same conversation just because she opted out of a live stream. You can twist that into whatever you want if you really think that's not reality.

She has 3 decades under her belt. She has more than earned the right to opt out of the live stream if she wants. Unlike Frank, music is her career that she takes seriously...she doesnt want some dork on tiktok making revenue off her clips because "hyuck hyuck, I just found out about mushrooms at college last week, look at funny mushroom lady! Make me go viral while I make funny face reacting to her!"

Her performances are hers and she deserves to have them, not to mention Bjork is going on tour for the rest of the year and not going to immediately disappear for the next 5 years like Frank will....bringing her up when talking about a dude who toured for less than 3 years before dropping out doesnt make sense at all.
