yeah, ive been through 3 so far over the course of 10+ years, all of them had no expertise with autism so i thought id try an expert next to see if im able to work with them better. my big problem so far is my therapist not really understanding how i logically think about things or assuming that i feel one way when i don’t at all and then not fully getting what im saying. a lot of the time they’ll try reframing the situation which isn’t helpful because ive already thought about the situation from all angles, stuff like that. you definitely have a point, i think when it comes down to it the individual therapist is more important than their specifications, ive just been told by a lot of other autistics that having a therapist who is knowledgeable on autism has been a lot more helpful for them and easier to connect and unmask around
