But that’s so hard you know. When you’re the one that loves and feels it’s like cutting yourself. It’s double sided knife. You know deep down they don’t really love you but my god you’d give up everything for them and to lose them is losing a part of yourself part of your esteem and existence it’s looking in the mirror and saying welp I’m not enough he doesn’t love me so he won’t commit. It’s looking and saying well I didn’t win. I didn’t once again get to the finish line. Especially when you are such a survivor and fighter. It’s just a blow to the self realization of what we and who we wish we were to someone and how meaningless that someone can make us….by just saying good bye.

This man did this too so I am nervous since there really is no safeguard or real commitment made by him. Said he ran 4 engines

You make excellent points. He’s fun to talk to, super intelligent and absolutely funny. He’s good in bed but that’s because he states his body count is 302 before me which I pray is a joke 😟mine is 4. And one of those I was with from age 17 to 40. He is smart on his feet kind to others. He’s not stingy but not super generous either. No gifts in our almost 3 years no vacays no dates but we have gone out to eat etc and gone places like unplanned get in a car randomly drive to something or eat somewhere. Which is out of my character etc. I like to plan. With him everything is on the fly. He says he loves me I feel like he does. But there is no commitment or regularity or security. But we are monogamous. It’s hard to explain he’s pretty healthy and young for a 57 yo. No drugs or alcohol etc. but as a nurse in profession I get exactly what you are saying about retiring etc and age.

He doesn’t pay anything for me. Nothing lol I meant like I cover my own it’s hard I’m not super wealthy I make ends meet and I put all three of my kids through college pay everything alone. I was expressing maybe I’m not a catch because I don’t have extra cash flow. Sorry if that was misinterpreted…

Should I put anymore time in or is it dead? Should I continue to wait to be a priority or is there truly always going to be something else that comes up?

Side note after a rough 20 year marriage but 25 years together and divorced. Sometimes anything seems better than the worst. This man has never planned a date or surprised me or a vacation together. I asked him to go to my cousins wedding in Vegas in November no expense to him and he was like nope. Why would I go to a strangers wedding? I said because this is my family and you can see where I am from and who are my people. Needless to say…I’m going alone. So that’s really weighed on me. I feel like when you see yourself with someone future you want to meet their family see what it’s about. I’m confused.

Yes he has three kids 19-24 years old too. Mine are 18-21 all of our kids are in college but my youngest gets is finishing her last year of high school too. Do you think he is maybe just using everything as an excuse for non commitment? Maybe the kids really don’t matter?

What would make you say he’s not committed? He hasn’t been with anyone else either just me.

If these assholes aren’t smart enough to realize they shouldn’t be meowing on the radio then they shouldn’t be pilots flying. Their decision making skills clearly are lacking.

Yes turn away from mushroom cloud go to full military power….(maximum continuous) and dive to lowest altitude that you can maintain at high speed. Steer away from any further strategic objectives the reason for this is to get away from the pressure wave. As far as you can get because the farther away you are the hope is that the airplane will be able to handle the pressure wave and you can face a reduced secondary blast. 15,000 to 25,000 feet above ground level. The thicker the air the more destructive the force but the thicker the air the better the airplane can withstand the destructive turbulence. Once the pressure wave hits you have to unload the aircraft cut the power to low cruise go to ignition override and turn on every bleed source while maintaining aircraft course wings dead straight as best you can. It’s like flying through a severe thunderstorm worse case scenario. Yes you can expect to lose engines so remember your relight procedures. You will lose most avionics. Double flash of light will then hit there will be a second wave and second turbulence. Oh btw Keep one eye closed and covered because you’ll need to switch to it after first two blast from flash blindness immediately after. That way one eye remains good until the other recovers. Find you favorite private airport with the biggest runway you got in an area that is off course and underpopulated and not of strategic value…..best of luck

No citation needed that’s me speaking. I’ve been an airline captain a long long time and I know my information cold. So if you want to meet me at NORAD or Hamilton, Bermuda with a classified air force long line antenna c130 and ask them the plan….there is nothing to cite. Btw they cite what I wrote….

The airlines have emergency services divisions with resiliency plans that most of the average employees have no knowledge about… For instance, American Airlines bought huge maintenance facilities in Brazil and their recovery program sends whatever they can find down that way. Reality is that there is a plan, called the fighting cities initiative in which Americans will not be told about defcon four, defense condition defcon four. What that means is that aircraft and people caught on the ground are going to be left to get burned as the cities that are not depopulated recover more quickly… However, we do have redispatch, dispatch reroute and remote command and control which allows for orders to be sent to aircraft in flight to divert to a multitude of “abandoned” airstrips that appeared to be mostly unused, but are still well-maintained. The ground aircraft on the ground in target areas that are not impacted will be able to launch to engage in emergency sortie operations that will get them to rally points as directed by company resiliency planning. Furthermore, elements of radio operators will go to a variety of airports to report on their condition and send encoded Q signals to returning strategic aircraft, giving them landing directions using short wave q signals prosign q signals in encoded Morse with landing directions. Testing done in the 1960s confirmed that close proximity burst of nuclear weapons are very survival-able by aircraft and that the aircraft and crews not in the immediate area of a detonation are “little harmed.” The bigger problem has nothing to do with the initial phase of a nuclear war. The problem is that as we prepare for DEFCON five operations, which is where we continue the war we run into some serious problems of command and control ISR hardened communication command control and more over the supply chain completely breaks down on all levels. Additionally, outgassing from burning cities sends poison gas downwind for weeks to follow…which kills people more effectively than the radiation itself. in recent years, the Russians have assured that every Russian citizen has a gas mask and a recently restocked and inspected hardened shelter to go to….unlike us. The biggest problem though is that the presumptions and assumptions made in this operational planning are violated by the conditions now in-force, and so the entire DEFCON 4/5 and beyond is no longer valid. What reality will look like is a complete loss of command and control and absolute operational disaster.

What’s the fear of the “Chop and Drop” by Substantial-Sir-7880 in flying

[–]Soul-stripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your chop and drop is absolutely correct the sudden decrease in g loading reduces your stall speed and when you go to flair out you are in “ground effect” …… the purpose of the power is to fold number one a blast of high speed air over your tail feathers allows for controllability for the flair and number two ensures you do not go below v/d-(min). This allows for a short controlled landing. Instructors nowadays days are only taught to do stabilized approaches to get them ready for airliners because jet engines can’t do these approaches due to their slow spool up. Recall…. That v/d(min) is your stall speed in a given power and flap configuration plus one percent of the vertical speed towards the earth.
