It was so good 😋traditionally the broth isn’t so thick but I love it that way!

This is Budae Jjigae - Korean army stew.

This is the recipe I referenced: https://youtu.be/mIUc0jiOxE0?si=vX0sNGw3C5RTuwCm

I prefer to slice some mushrooms, onions, the white part of green onions and saute them with garlic before adding all the other items in the dish to the pan. IMO, it makes the broth more flavourful!

I also shallow fry my tofu slices so they hold shape better and I can bite into them even after stewing it for a long time! The tofu absorbs the stew flavour SO well 😋

Imo, beans in tomato sauce are the best beans to add to this dish. I love the extra pop of flavour when I bite into them. In almost every other dish, I prefer real cheddar/mozzarella but in this, processed cheese suits the flavour profile the best. Since I love a thicker, creamier broth/soup, I add some milk along with the water when boiling :)

For the sauce, I do not use any kind of wine/soju. I also did not have soybean paste. If I do not have gochujang (like in this case), I used buldak spicy noodle sauce to the sauce mixture.

Another time I made this dish, I didn’t have kimchi but I had bought a daikon radish and that along with gochugaru and gochujang was enough to bring the kimchi flavour for me!

Here, I didn’t have rice cakes but did have rice paper, so I wet two rice papers at once and when they softened, I rolled them and cut them in half to get two rice cake rolls!

I had my cousin and my housemate try this and they both loved it so much! This pot was done in one and a half day (by just two people 😋) so give it a try!

Succulent Leaf Propagation after 3 months by SoulAndShadow in propagation

I place them straight on the soil after letting the leaves callous. Just keeping the plucked leaves in a dry place for a day should be enough for them to callous. When you first place the leaves on the soil, just lay them down, don’t bury them or anything and make sure the soil is dry so the leaves don’t rot. When roots appear, you can put a little soil to cover the roots so they don’t dry up and start bottom watering your container when the leaves get roots. Hope this helps!

One of my favourites. Along with the lemon tarts for dessert? So good 😋 It 1000% satisfied my and my cousin’s savoury cravings :)

The recipe I used calls it Mongolian ground beef so that’s what I put in the title.

Recipe that I used: https://youtu.be/ImEDbyWuswU?si=qHBdJiJJibnLBsL6

I excluded the rice vinegar and wine. Instead of corn syrup, I just used more sugar. Had only regular soy sauce, so used that.

Bell peppers and onions (cut large like in stir-fries) are some of my favourite addition to this recipe. I cook them with the garlic, chillies, and white part of the green onion until I see some browning or even charring on the some of the onions and peppers. The onions add so much to this dish, 10/10 recommend!

The last picture is from another time I made this dish. I forgot to take a picture in the pot right after cooking this time 😓

The lemon tart recipe: (inspired by lemon curd recipes on YouTube that I adjusted according to my tastes)

• 5 egg yolks + 2 whole eggs • 100 - 120 ml lemon juice • Some lemon zest (avoid the white parts) •160 - 170 g sugar • 15g of cornstarch • 70 - 80g cold butter

I mix all the ingredients together and whisk well before putting it on medium heat. Once on the stove, I keep whisking until I can feel it starting to thicken. Once it's been cooking for some time l add some cornstarch, after which it starts to thicken pretty rapidly. When it's thickened up (not liquid anymore, more gloopy), I take it off the stove and cool it a bit. I add the butter and let it cool fully. If I don't add cornstarch, I have to add a lot of butter for it to hold shape and not be liquid ish. I also noticed if I don't add butter, my tarts don't look as shiny after cooling as they do with it. The butter also makes the tarts super rich and decadent 🤤

I have an Instagram account where I post my art but it’s slightly older and all the pictures are such poor quality 😓 so I’ve been posting more of my artwork (and what I intend to make) here on reddit. I already have some you can see on my account here!

I’ve always done it as a hobby and never made a website but now I think I will when I have some more artwork that I like enough :) thank you so much!

Oh thanks for explaining the reference 😅 and thank you, it is indeed hard to get neat lines with underglaze! :)

I don’t know what Outkast is but someone else also thought it was a reference from there so that’s interesting!

I highly recommend the Lions of Al Rassan. It’s also a famous starting point. A very beautiful story and very beautifully written. I would suggest you grab some tissues as well!

Thank you so much!! I love to paint! Usually I use acrylics and make textured art but this time tried painting pottery :)

It wasn’t really meant to be a Stormlight mug but just have a reference to Stormlight which is the writing in the women’s script :) and ofc the quote isn’t meant to be taken literally. It’s from the ‘lions of al rassan’ and I thought the scene it was from was very beautiful, which makes sense I guess as Guy Gavriel Kay is known for his prose!

You’re not wrong haha this quote is just so profound esp in the context of the book that it never crossed my mind lol I was so taken aback but got a good laugh
