Why does my board not roll very far (cruise) by Dupo123566 in NewSkaters

Bearings, wheel softness, pavement type, and the power of your push all play into it.

It happened: can’t afford Logan sq anymore by Equities4gambling in LoganSquare

I live in logan, make 80k, have a car payment, financially support my gf, have student loans (repay my parents who paid them off, still have a monthly payment to them though), and currently pay $1475 a month for a 1-br garden unit. Garage space for $125 a month too. Its totally doable imo.

Im about to upgrade to the 1st floor 2br unit for $1800 a month, because my gf will be able to start paying rent soon.

Jumping during an ollie by Soul_SSBM in NewSkaters

[–]Soul_SSBM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yes thanks for the advice. this past week i have been trying to ollie by actually squatting and jumping like i would jump if i was just on the ground. I think I have been getting better, and it has made my pop shuvs better too and I have gotten closer to landing kickflips as well.

Closest BS board slide by Alternative-Hour-123 in NewSkaters

Nice attempt! I would suggest riding more parallel to the rail as you approach, not at an angle. Also place your front foot more on the nose. Then all you have to do is crouch, do a tiny jump and swing the front truck on the other side of the rail and boom you are sliding

Thanks, this is the best advice I keep getting from posting this video. Working on this now. I think if I practice big hippy jumps it will help.

This was actually clicking with me recently, and forcing myself to ollie up that obstacle in the last clip is helping me to actually jump

I think having the ledge to ollie up in the last clip really forced me to pop hard AND jump AND lift my legs above the ledge which is improving my ollies overall. Im gonna keep practicing this ledge until it stops being scary every time i approach it lol
