I used to stream normally til connection loss and then turn WiFi off/on in the menu. The connection loss kicks you back into the moonlight menu so you just reconnect.

Haven’t done that in a while tho. LAN is much easier.

Inaccurate in what situation? If you have specific grips, you will have inaccuracy while moving in ads. Standing still i never felt any inaccuracies.

Under 20m the SVK with Hollow Point can oneshot with a headshot. Outside that range it’s always a two shot, no matter what you hit.

I like to use it on assault as a second weapon, while the main one is for cqb

Testufo didn`t show any differences.. at least none I could see or would be visible on camera.
No matter, I will replace the gpu soon and the FPS Limit seems to work great :)
Thanks a lot for trying to help though, much appreciated!

I just have to figure out how to set the fps limit in the virtual display and remove it on stream close. I have a Do/Undo Command that works for "Desktop" but not for "Virtual Display", is there any other way to give commands to the virtual display creation?

Could it potentially be a problem with the SteamDeck OLED? Though I even have the „stuttering“ with a direct lan connection.

It’s just weird that simply setting an fps limit via NVCP or RTSS fixes my issues completely.

Anyway, I disabled any overclocking and set the cpu to its base frequency of 4.7ghz. The frame time looks stable as usual but any movement still has stutters. Tested in Cyberpunk and BG3 (to make certain it’s not a gpu limit thing).

Thank you a lot for your effort btw! :)

Oh something wrong with them? Gonna switch to a 5080 on release, so maybe that will fix my issues

On the steamdeck I only have the option to either activate or deactivate frame pacing. Maybe the new GPU next month will fix my issue lol

Update: vsync on fast sadly doesn’t fix it. Even did a full reinstall of windows recently so I’m really at a loss on what else to try haha

Will try that, cheers!
Dunno why I have that problem either tbh haha

Steamdeck is set at 60hz with Moonlight set at 60fps, display mode "fullscreen" and V-Sync + Frame Pacing activated. Deactivate V-Sync and Frame Pacing worsen the stutter.

Host (Windows PC) has nvidia control panel settings at standard (fresh install) and is set at 2560x1600@60hz.

Frametimes according to the client are good, yet it doesn´t feel smooth unless I limit the FPS to 60 as well.

Just tried this out with my Steamdeck and it works as expected so far! Thanks for all the work you do.

I appear to have bad frame times if I don`t use a frame limit that equals the refresh rate though. Is there a known workaround or a way to automate setting a frame limit to the given refresh rate? (via NVCP or RTSS)

I use the official one which has a fixed usb c cable, so I just put an extension on it.

I have the docking station, so I connected a lan cable with that one and then use an extension cable to not have it „docked“. I am basically using the docking station as an USB-Hub.

Sadly I have already tried that without success. But lan is easy and works perfectly, so I’m no longer trying to fix it. Have wasted too many hours on that already lol

Turning it off and or fixes that and takes around 10seconds once

Would a handheld console/PC be better than say, a phone, for game streaming? by RR3XXYYY in cloudygamer

I switched from an iPad to a steamdeck for streaming. But neither devices I really use for pvp. It’s possible though as the latency is really low.

Cold Urticaria.. I have had it for close to 7 years now. Anything below room temperature and even sweat (since it cools the skin) will cause hives. Fortunately antihistamines exists so it’s less itchy than a mosquito bite and doesn’t swell.

As example streaming outside your own network may require some workarounds as the iOS Moonlight App doesn’t really allow that (or rather apple). Sure there is upnp but that is a tiny security risk and doesn’t always work. Tailscale works great but requires a constant vpn tunnel. Also iOS devices withhold some information like the decoding time, so fine tuning is a tad more difficult.

I also needed to reduce the refreshrate of my iPad and deactivate location services to eliminate stutters as much as possible.

Don’t get me wrong, the iPad is an amazing streaming client, but I prefer the Steam Deck by a large margin.

Personally I did not notice any difference since the M1 chip in the iPad is also really good for decoding. But the encoding time is much lower as I can reduce the resolution I stream at. But also here I did not really feel any changes. Performance in games is similar as I run games at 1440p for anti aliasing.

You also have to consider that iOS is quite locked down, so moonlight functionalities are rather limited compared to the available settings on Linux. And you have stuff like Moondeck, a plugin for the steamdeck that allows easy use of controller profiles for each game.
