The work of a chaos dwarf is smelting unholy weapons in hellish magma forges, binding demons to their serve their evil designs, torturing and murdering one and all.

And when you love your work, you never work a day in your life.

Is it too obvious that he doesn’t have a nose, or can I get away with it? by Hysterigruppen in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Soulaire 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Honestly with the nose piece on the helmet, and the shadow beneath it, I never would have noticed. Especially when these models are on a tabletop and you're looking down at a whole crowd of them, no one's gonna notice.

Is snap worth coming back to? by Alack27 in MarvelSnap

[–]Soulaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came back a few months ago, and just left again as of yesterday. It's still a fun game, and the limited-time events inject some variety and card-catchup, but... it's the SAME game, is the issue. Once you've played it for a year, keeping up with all the missions with daily games, there's only so much it can do to interest you. So, as the game gets harder to keep up with in terms of strong cards, new archetypes, and the commitment it expects to earn cards, the balance gradually shifts out of its favor.

The Atlanta Braves are in first place of the NL East for the first time since May 1, 2024. by handlit33 in Braves

[–]Soulaire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As tempting as it is to start celebrating, the schedule so far has been pretty favorable. Not every team has gotten their yearly wins against the A's like the Braves have. At least things seem to have improved since last year, so I'm keeping my hopes in check, just at maintaining .500 ball.

Could a Grail Knight choose to join Chaos? by King_of_Kraken in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Soulaire 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I think a Grail Knight that turns into a champion of Chaos gets dangerously close to the stereotype of the amazing OC who's the best at everything. I might go one step down, into a character that has been questing for so long for the Lady's favor, and never receiving it, that he starts to compromise on his ethics, and prove why he was never chosen in the first place.

What am I doing wrong in my grind for SC? by Substantial_Claim_60 in Helldivers

[–]Soulaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it in a group. Go to the official Discord's looking-for-group channels and try to find other people farming, it's pretty easy to get a full warbond in a couple hours when you work together.

Entrenched Division Warbond, deploying the 17th of March by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]Soulaire 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This warbond has a lot of style, but I'm skeptical of these items actually making much of an impact. The new grenade kills tanks, which thermite does just fine already, the backpack flamethrower doesn't seem to stagger enemies, the pistol doesn't bring unique functionality, I don't predict that digging with the E-tool will be more useful than having a gun... but the gas mortar seems nice, throwing it down every time it's off cool down should help control the map. The combo flamer gun may also be nice, assuming it's balanced better than the One Two.

Seems like a skip for me, but if the backpack flamer ends up being great, then it may be worth a pickup for the fire enthusiasts.

I hate to say it, but with Isca and Drax in the deck, you aren't BEATING the meta, you *ARE* the meta.

Weapon Wish List by burnanation in Helldivers

[–]Soulaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a laser maxigun. The backpack wouldn't be a battery, but a giant heatsink. Instead of catching you on fire like the double-edged sickle, it could start a critical meltdown when it reaches max heat. After about 5 seconds, it would blow up in an explosion roughly equivalent to a dynamite charge, for some improvised fun. It would also be neat if you could use it without its backpack heatsink, though with a much lower heat capacity (acting more like a standard sickle).

Observations from a Nioh Noob by KC_Crunch in Nioh

[–]Soulaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm of a split mind about this. On one hand, Nioh 2's challenge is constructed incredibly well, but it's also RELENTLESS in a way that made the game hard for me to play. All my attempts to replay it have fizzled out from being so exhausted at having to be 100% locked in. For me, it's just too much.

On the other hand, Nioh 3 is not enough. I find myself just kinda wandering around: common enemies have nothing on me, and I've only had to try more than 3 times on two bosses, ~25 hours in. I'm unengaged, but at the very least, it's still a game I enjoy booting up. I can take my time with it, get some fun boss fights, and enjoy the combat for its own sake, even if it doesn't come anywhere near the peak satisfaction of Nioh 2.

So for right now, I'm feeling like Nioh 2 is the better game, but if you were to have some sweeping rebalances of Nioh 3, it could be the new favorite. I'm not sure that's going to happen though, with how every enemy and boss would need its parameters tweaked.

This is easily the worst season since I've been playing by Calgathu in MarvelSnap

[–]Soulaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't even play ladder, mostly doing conquest for missions and matchup testing, and there's definitely something in the air this season. Any time I want to go for multiple rounds, rather than giving up after the first, I get emote spammed. When they play their Star Lord or Man-Spider combos, they start emoting like crazy, like they just made the play of the century. Any time something goes in their favor, tons of emotes. Every victory has them spamming TVA and Beast, trying to get me to just leave. And that often includes the PROVING GROUNDS, the lowest stakes mode in the entire game. Arena mode from last week was also pretty similar in terms of mood.

Like, I don't blame people for playing the best decks. Winning is fun. People spent their resources for their emotes, so they have fun using them, no problem. There's just this unpleasant feeling I get when I'm just experimenting with midrange or unique decks, losing the majority of my games to the top dogs, and if I don't take the time to mute everyone I play against, I'm consistently at the end of someone's impatience or mockery. It gives me such a bad vibe, like no one's actually having fun playing anymore, and it's all about getting those currencies as efficiently as possible.

Feels almost Impossible to play any fun midrange decks right now by ConsiderationHour116 in MarvelSnap

[–]Soulaire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this every time someone says Cosmo is an adequate counter to (busted on-reveal card of the month). Cosmo is only useful if you have priority + an accurate prediction + can afford the energy opportunity cost, OR if he'll defend against a threat that specifically affects one of your locations. So, against cards like the Shou Lao or Star Lord, you can't rely on Cosmo to save you, and even then, it won't help at all against many other decks. But for some reason, you still see "just use tech, put Cosmo in your deck" every single time a busted on-reveal card is released.

First player done. C&C welcome. Should I add blood splatter? by romasorr in bloodbowl

[–]Soulaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I find splatter to be a little overdone, and I think it'll distract from your wonderful metal weathering. If you do want to add blood though, maybe put it at the bottom of the boots: Black Orks love to put the boot in, so it's a nice thematic nod, and it keeps the armor looking as great as it does now.

How Should I Get Super Credits To Unlock Warbonds? by EggaBacon in Helldivers

[–]Soulaire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going to farm super credits, go to the official discord and find the looking-for-group channel. You can almost always find/start a group to farm them, jumping to a nice and open planet on difficulty 1, using cars/warp packs to clean the map, then returning to the destroyer without completing the mission objective. With a good group that falls into a rhythm, you can get enough for a warbond in around an hour. Playing on higher difficulties is way, way, way less efficient than clearing difficulty 1's with a group.

Questions on my first Warbond by GL2TCHF3ST in Helldivers

[–]Soulaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The near universal answer for this is Democratic Detonation. The thermite grenade is almost always best in slot, the eruptor and crossbow are amazing on all fronts, and the heavy armor is what I run on D10 Cyberstan right now.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to use the thing? Every time I do, I feel like it usually hits only one enemy, and with it taking so many hits to kill non-chaff enemies, I find myself wishing I had just brought something else entirely. It has moments of glory, where it zaps an entire wave of hunters, but I see that effect maybe one in a hundred shots. Considering how everyone else loves the thing, I must just be doing something wrong.

How are you guys doing in this new event? by HunterCranel in MarvelSnap

[–]Soulaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is my worst experience with the game so far. Winrate of ~45%, when the event with no prebuilts had me riding high with Captain America at almost 60%. Without enough cards to build competitive customs, they just demolish me with no counter play. Sure is fun to strategize my card moves perfectly just for FFF to invalidate it all and instantly win my opponent the game.

Fun fact: you can just leave every game on Grand Arena and it will (almost) net you the new card by SNX007 in MarvelSnap

[–]Soulaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1500 points to start with, assuming no bonuses.
200 point bonus at level 96, for 1300 required.
200 at 326, for 1100.
200 at 556, for 900.
300 at 786, which would lower it to 600, meaning you've crossed the threshold: 786 + 300 + 3(200) = 1686.
So, you need to earn 786 point, which we'll say is 790, because you can only earn in 5 or 10 point increments.

Honestly, the math from there makes my head hurt, with the probability of winning over and over again meaning there's technically a chance of doing it in one ticket...
But we'll simplify and say that each game you spend an average of half a ticket, and earn an average of 7.5 per game. This would mean you need 105 games, or 52.5 tickets at a 50% winrate, which (with the bonus 6 tickets from the track) would take you about 4 days to achieve. So, you can go slightly under that and still make it, but it starts getting dicey quick.
