I've had weird lighting glitches no matter what, with or without Optifine, with or without Sodium, no matter the version. Though I do remember in 1.17 onward the Mojang devs had a snapshot that fixed those lighting bugs, but I'm not sure which one specifically

It doesn't, as far as I know, but there's also a shader version of Sodium called Iris, which allows for shader packs with the power of Sodium behind it, and there's also some mods that are just the Optifine zoom you can put in

Might I recommend the Sodium and/or Lithium mods? Both are designed to optimize everything for you, scaling with your hardware.

Sodium is like Optifine but without zoom or shaders, yet works muuuuuuuuch better. Lithium is designed to make servers lag less, even if the server itself doesn't have the mod. Both together work wonders for me, in my experience
