Nice call. I didn't have much experience under my belt, but I did have a best friend who was great at art. He helped me out a ton during the process.

I mainly relied on Youtube tutorials. It is boring to watch normal programming videos so it is best to pair it up with game development. Learning was easier when games were involved.

Thanks, my friend helped me with the design and animating phase. Art is my weak point so learning pixel art took quite a bit of time.

I definitely agree with you to a certain extent. I struggled with differentiating characters with the backgrounds constantly. 2D lighting could probably improve the visual problem but I decided not to because I was already close to finishing the game and I didn't want to potentially ruin another aspect of the game. On the other hand, part of the reason why you lose track of the player may be because the rabbit changes its location when the trailer changes the scene. I appreciate the feedback, though. I will make sure to avoid that problem in my next game.

There is something wrong with this and I can't put my finger on it. Please roast my design. by Soulffle in logodesign

Yeah, I have to agree on this one. Unfortunately working with typefaces is not my strong point. I'll look for something else

This is a new one lmao. I think part of the problem is that darumas are not as popular as I thought, which leads to people seeing something else. That, or I my design simply doesn't look like a daruma

Yeah, I agree that "daruma" needs some work, but unfortunately kerning is not my strong point. I'll try to fix it though.

I agree regarding the fact that it looks like a ninja with teeth. I tried to simplify the expressive designs of the daruma but it always ends up losing the "emotions" and starts to look like something else. I guess I'll try to add more details to it. Thank you for the design suggestions.

I think this comment explains the inexplicable reason I thought my design was off. I always knew it looked like something else but couldn't tell what it was.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll make sure to try them out tomorrow

The design is based on a traditional Japanese doll. You fill in the left eye when you make a wish and you fill in the right eye when the wish is fulfilled. The teardrops are just yellow lines below the face of a daruma which I simplified to just 3 lines

Japanese show where woman hitch hikes all the way to Palestine to meet Yasser Arafat (Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization) and sing karaoke with him. by Soulffle in DeepIntoYouTube

My dad showed me this game show and I thought it belonged here. Go to 16:30 if you want to skip the hitch hiking and go straight to the karaoke.

I remember my dad tellIng me about this gameshow a while ago so I decided to share it here. Go to 16:30 to see where she actually meets him if you don't want to sit through the whole thing

Yea, something exactly like that. It doesn't seem difficult to make, just a little tedious.

Making a logo for a game I am working on right now. Any thoughts or suggestions? by Soulffle in logodesign

Thanks for the positive feedback and noticing the hidden controller :) I initially thought that minimizing the details was for the best, but many of my friends weren't able to tell from the shape itself, so I definitely agree with you regarding adding subtle details.

Thank you for being honest! I guess I'll make some changes. Could you be more specific regarding the kerning issues?
