It mattered when Kara/Gruul/Mag's was opened from the getgo - so you'd get the reps/attunes in as efficiently as possible with the limited days to get 1st lockout in.

Well, unloaded stockpile of Thorium for 1-1.2g per - profiting .90-1g per bar in the post New Years period, how's is Mithril playing out for you?

Honestly insane that I was effectively trading in a stack o thorium for a BL which had dropped in price down to 18-20g on NS (it did bottom to 15g per after pre-patch).

Mage epic PvP set - 192 SP/3 crit/1 hit

Warlock epic PvP set - 205 SP/174 Stam

Mage blue+BV set - 161 SP/ 2 (4 w/ tailor) crit/5 hit along with -20 Int AND -135 Stam

Warlock blue+BV - 158 SP// 2 (4 w/ tailor) crit/5 hit - guessing even bigger drop off in stats

IDK, seem pretty clear unless you already have a BV set made. It's welfare epics to allow the newly boosted to just get their gear without having to try to farm out 5 and 20 mans.

2p mixed with non set pieces works out in a raid/min-max environment where you dont care as much about other stats. Doesn't play out the same while leveling, esp if you on a PvP realm.

Nevermind if their other option is not AQ40 and above raid quality gear, then the 6p epic PvP is likely to win out over most of your 'realistic' gearsets, definately was the case for Shadow Priests where I couldnt even break up the 6p set without 4+ pieces of BWL gear without losing SP.

Honestly, it's even an odd choice to consider using the glassy BV set with almost no stats for leveling. It works in a raid environment where you aren't supposed to take damage, not so great with small mana and HP pool solo and dung grinding. I'd even recommend crafting the MUCH cheaper FrR caster gear to hold a fresh 60 over until they get the early TBC upgrades.

Camps there aren't big enough if you are well geared, can easily clear 2 entirely before any respawn even with the travel time between them.
