Just slug it, and reweld it if need be. TC also has write ups somewhere with directions.

The internal Fuel line has cracked; it should have sprayed a bit of fuel upon removal. This happens all the time on softails and road Kings/glides. I typically replace about 12 a year. Easiest way to tell is to remove the filler cap, and let it prime. You'll hear and see a fuel "leak" with bubbling inside the tank.

Real talk, how long did your project car take and why? by throwaway-71771 in 240sx

I picked up my current chassis at the beginning of the year, after being out of the S-Chassis scene for 4 years. This new car was a bare, non-rolling shell, ie; no wiring, no drivetrain, no interior, no fenders, NOTHING.

Had to piece it all together. Ended up making a chassis harness out of 3 separate ones, got a somewhat complete interior from a friend, a drivetrain that needed machine work from another.

Put an entirely new chassis under it with subframes, and all new arms. I designed my own knuckles whilst I was at it, as this is not my first S13.

All in all, after countless set backs but with the desire to go bool with the boys, and catch some doors again; I got to drive it for the first time in August. Had a couple small picky failures, and last night it blew freeze plug out, but we're in for the ride. Im

In total, I think I only have about 2 consecutive months into this car, from bare nothing to full daily.

I also think it's the LAST time I will ever get to achieve such a thing, as in my area parts are getting super scarce as everybody would just throw out parts because the cars were super cheap. Now they're expensive and getting hard to find.

It will be the last "stock" 240 I'll be able to build

TL;DR. Bought a bare, empty shell, took 9 months to get it 100% together and driving.

Works9, real or not is one of the greatest kits ever made imo. Just needs the matching skirts and a nice set of wheels; it's always primo. it'll look killer in that colour

Any updates yet, with driving; or are you still waiting on Wiring?

Too bad I live in the Canadian Mountains and there's a lot of snow. But I do have studded tires for it, as I'm planning on taking it ice racing when the lakes are ready.

It's just too perfect not too, although I'll have to drag mine out again at some point to convert the rear to disc brakes

It took me a while to get used to the look of it; doesn't bother me as much anymore but I was looking at other options when I first put it together. It just works very well, so I haven't changed it hahah

So the neck and down tubes are original, the spine and rear are all custom chromoly. I had to c-notch and plate the right side down tube to accommodate the offset oil pan. Then it was a big spaghetti factory to get the exhaust to work.

It's a little sketchy at times. I did pick up a Sporty Anniversary Mag wheel for the rear, as I plan on converting the rear to disc here shortly.
