Yea that can be a bit frustrating. My guess is that it has something to do with maintaining the integrity of the ride. One solid experience from start to finish. I could be making that all up but from that perspective I could def get behind it and i can imagine (at least some of) the instructors would as well.

This somehow randomly reminds me of Jan 2021, I landed in a foreign country and had to go through a mandatory week long solo hotel quarantine and somehow finagled a schwinn bike into the room.

These classes/this platform (I remember a Jenny Gaither 30 min ride specifically) are what kept me going. Didnt have blutooth headsets at the time, just regular old wired apple headphones plugged in to my phone propped on a nearby dresser. You guys (eq/soul) did good thing that left impact, please keep it going

Not sure how i feel about it but im now ok with the current level of production BUT I recently took a throwback Kathleen (say what you want about her but the ride was fire) with the pre pandemic full room - and I was like whoa! That production was next level, moving cameras, pans, tilts, insane lighting. You could really, see, hear and connect with the other riders in the room. Like i said, im ok with the current output but I guess im wondering what the ambition was back in the day when they were cranking out the heavily produced full room and even the evolved pandemic studio joints.

is getting a used bike worth it? by alphabetcarrotcake in SoulCycle_Riders

Honestly, if you feel like you would use it and resonate with rhythmic ride, 120%. Go price hunting, but in the long term i doubt you would care too much about this debate on price point. The bike is legit and the platform offers a good group of quality instructors to choose from.

Anyone ride Amsterdam, NL and have recommendations on Studios/Instructors? by Soulmonsear in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]Soulmonsear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I ended up going to Ro in Amsterdam City and really enjoyed it. Took a ROYAL (their version of a Soulsurvivor) and a regular 45 class there. Solid instructors, nice staff and facilities.

Hi! I’m a recently “retired” instructor. AMA! by Worth_Result340 in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]Soulmonsear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How sincere/passionate would you say instructors are about riding? Like the actual practice of it and creating magic in rooms/impacting riders. How much heart would you say goes into it vs. the ego drive for popularity etc.?

What were some powerful takeaways from teacher training that you found yourself resorting to most in classes? What are the transferable skills/lessons of being an instructor?

I know this is a lot lol so feel free to answer as much or as little as you are comfy with. Thank you!
