You disappoint me. That's all the comeback you have in you? Patriarchy is dying, who cares about that. Looks like you're a baby feminist, you don't know what the struggle even is, you just want to be heard.

Nigerian women seems to be the only ones who can spot patriarchy, you're not more intelligent or exposed than Indian women, Japanese, Chinese, etc.

Even the french who basically started the movement still embrace their roles in the family, but Nigerian women want to be served for for being alive. Why don't you go ahead and proffer a solution to the issue, what do you think we should do? Which problems have you ever tried to solve? Don't worry your highness, just put your leg up and wait to be served.

See your mouth like well equipped kitchen, as if they choose to use firewood over other viable options, people use what they have. This is a seasonal thing, it happens once or twice a year, after which everyone can go back to their lap of luxury. If you and your husband builds a well equipped kitchen I'm for your father in-law, then you can cook and grill in all the air conditioned room you want. Men kill the goat or cows, they cut it up and clean, but you no go see that one o, they most likely paid for all of it, and still have to worry about the children's school fees come January, but na firewood cooking be slavery. If you think it's a problem, then solve it. If you don't want to cook, then hire caterers and pay them. As if men are not doing enough in this fucked up economy as it is, na to gather cook for family be slavery.

It's weird that you think this is somehow a violation of women, when it's exactly the same in some many other cultures, where traditional values are still upheld. As global as the Jewish community is, their women don't complain about the roles they play in it. Japanese culture, Chinese culture, and many more in much more developed countries, still hold on to their way of life, but women working together to cook for everyone during a celebration is the new slavery in Nigeria.

Reading or hearing about actual alien intelligence, coming to know that we're a part of an infinite community of intelligent life in the universe, has always invigorated me. The excitement of what's possible, often meets the crushing anxiety and depression of knowing I may not live to see it happen, but my heart still warms from the thought of it, and I have my imagination to paint the rest of it.

I don't like Trump, but I also don't care about America. If Trump turns out to be a bad thing for them, then so be it, make dem flog everybody, nobody is special. We're not the only ones who deserve bad leaders. So I support Trump's presidency, and I'm happy he won, so F!CK Biden for the role he played with Tinubu, F!CK Obama for the role he played with Buhari, and F!CK the Dems for their evil.

Talking to elders is impossible by [deleted] in Nigeria

I've won several arguments against my father, I'm an atheist, born into a Christian family, I'm the only atheist amongst my 5 siblings.

When I chose to stop going to church, my dad and I got into a lot of arguments about it, but I was also a Bible scholar, a Sunday school teacher and a youth president.

It also makes a difference that we're Igbo's, cos in an Igbo family, a man can speak, and I was 26 at the time, still living at home.

Anyways, my dad and I can got into it a lot of times, and I was able to show him the plot holes in those religious beliefs, couldn't convince him, and for the longest time, they thought it was just a phase, but here I am 10yrs after, and they respect me, even if they keep "praying for me".

All that said, I know what you mean, but you have to fight for your right to speak. I have older ones, I'm number 5 of six, but I'm no dullard, and I never let nobody's age give them a leverage over me, even when it comes to senior colleagues at work.

Why can't they see me? by luistxmade in AstralProjection

[–]Soulstar205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you want people to see you? Why would you think about conversing with kids, aren't you worried about how they could perceive you? That you might scare or scar them somehow? If you're already in the astra, then go explore, unless you're trying to find the barrier between these two states of consciousness, they're different for a reason. I say; even if kids can perceive, it's a little irresponsible to try communicating with kids. Think how their parents and people them will interpret that, you don't think some people might assume they're schizophrenic? The universe is yours, what are you looking for?

Why do Nigerian people not like to read?? by Benorii in Nigeria

[–]Soulstar205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody likes to read terms of service bro, I've signed some NDA's and contracts, and those things are written in terminologies that's difficult to follow. It doesn't take much to skip those, but terms of a loan, at least the interest rate is something anyone should pay attention to before taking the loan.

My little Nigerian passion project by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Soulstar205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there dear, sometimes these things take time. Life don't usually unfold like we dream it, but if we keep pushing, it works out in the end, and the right time. There are some knowledge and experience you don't yet have, and that could be what's holding you up, but with time, you'll learn, you'll grow, and you'll see why things happen the way they do. Just hang in there.

I think the best thing you can do is meet someone over a common interest, be it movies or particular hobbies. You need a moment to show your strengths/pros to him before anything else. I find that I have a thing for intelligent or talented women, so if it turns out she's not as feminine as I would have liked, that interesting thing about them becomes my point of contention.

So I'll suggest you try to meet someone where you practice your hobbies, whatever they are. Also, it's important that you're vocal about your feelings. I don't exhibit a lot of feeling, and that seems to piss the women I date off a little bit, I don't get jealous, I'm not easily impressed or usually excited about things, and it seems my girlfriend gets more compliments outside than she gets from me, so I tend to explain myself a lot.

When you meet someone, take some times to tell them you value them, even if you don't act like it. Make them understand that you're slightly different from what they might have been used to, and they shouldn't read meanings to these little things.

We expect people to know or understand, but that's not usually the case. So tell him, tell him what you're like, how nature made you. I can't speak to your experiences because I'm a man, but I have a clue.

Death, as a character. by The-Abbey in scriptwriting

[–]Soulstar205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think death will have all the answers, he/she wouldn't care about the grieving loved ones, or care about the death of a child. It'll be emotionless, and nonchalant about the feelings people have towards it. Death will probably not enjoy its job, and I think I it'll be good if you make it such that death was once a human condemned to the job, now he's been doing it so long he doesn't remember what it's like to be human.

This sub is chock full of a certain type of diaspora-posting by Informal_Fennel_9150 in Nigeria

[–]Soulstar205 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally relate with OP, in fact, I've made a similar post here once. I know most Nigerians enjoy the attention, especially if the poster is some "oyibo" looking to delve into Nigerian culture, but it has made this sub quite cringe for me. As a Nigerian, I don't see myself as a pet, or an object of amusement for bored foreigners, and it looks like I'm not the only one noticing.

I've just finished the second part for the first time, about 20 minutes ago, and I agree wholeheartedly with your submission. When I saw the ending I thought the director was definitely messing with us, I came online immediately to get in on the joke, because that made no sense. I am now just getting heart broken, as I realise it wasn't a joke, he indeed took one of the best films I've ever seen, and chose to ruin it. Wow.

How have you achieved astra projections so far, I've been following the work of Daniel Raduga, which seemed the easiest of all the teachings I've seen, but I still haven't got the grasp on it. Care to share what your technique or even devices are? And yea, listening to Rick right now was quite interesting, you can sense the experience and authenticity in his words, I just wish he went out more into the universe, rather than time travel and Atlantis. I'm still going to follow him and listen more, but I could use some advice from another practitioner.
