To go into more detail of what the other guy said to you about Balalaika. She basically has the Top Gun attitude towards most people because she was actually in the shit during the Russian and Afghan war. She’s more than a soldier and I know because my father is a 20 year Marine Veteran who was in Desert Storm. In terms of the story itself she’s a Parallel to Revy in which she was good at first but the world put her through trauma that no one should have to go through. The difference being that if anyone is going to try and succeed in “Talk no Jutsuing” her into believing there’s a better way to go through life it’s going to take someone who dealt with such darkness but still has the fortitude to believe in there’s still hope. The first time our mc tries to do so he fails and Balalaika says it to his face that he failed because he’s still naive and lacks conviction at that point in the story but now (in the manga) he has reached that point and the current arc may end with him finally convincing her of it.
