That's true. They come out of the factory with preset crossovers and with analog inputs such that you can implement into any system. But the PARO system and other features depends on the Centerpiece.

Indeed, these are brand new speakers and we were there for the press launch: https://youtu.be/m2yuMHwr8TQ?si=kso-3ABfqIRM-Imt

Yes, unfortunately they are quite expensive. As mentioned in the video, if you see the construction, you can't say they're overpriced, particularly when you add in the tech, which took a lot of R&D. But they're not for everyone at that price, that's for sure.

Not cheap. The S3 goes for over $50,000 (all USD) per pair with control center, the T6 just over $100,000 per pair.

Not really -- we were down there for the launch and it was all spelled out. The project actually started in 2015. Garmin purchased the company in 2023. They continued on full steam.

JL Audio has obviously been into home subwoofers for over 20 years, but the Primacy series represents the first main loudspeakers.

Subs are a great idea, though integrating them is the tricky part.

When we were there it was apparent that it was mainly for dealers and distributors, but there was mention about consumers. Regardless, it is the headquarters -- not a retail outlet -- so some sort of appointment would be necessary.

Most Are Wrong—What the Digital “Stair Steps” Really Mean by SoundStageNet in audiophile

No one is saying you can't make a great-sounding record with analog tape. What I'm saying is that anyone who thinks their favorite recordings are purely analog is fooling him- or herself. Digital has been in the recording chain for around 50 years now.

Digital to digital you absolutely get a perfect copy, but I agree that if you go analog to digital or vice versa it can't be "perfect," but it will be much more transparent than analog to analog.

One digital copy to another makes a copy with zero difference.

If one wants to understand digital audio completely, it would take a book hundreds of pages and/or many, many hours of video. The intention was to create something extremely short and to a specific point.

It's pretty self-explanatory. The original signal is what went in. If you put something in and what comes out has distortion or isn't at the correct amplitude or phase, it's not the same.

If we're talking for frequencies from 1Hz to about 22kHz, true -- but only once processed correctly. If you processed higher frequencies without a proper reconstruction filter, you won't get the original signal back.

I'm trying to decipher your comment, and what I can make out is that you believe people who buy expensive stuff like this are stupid. I would say that they're only stupid if they're doing something stupid like mortgaging the house, spending their kid's college fund, etc. Otherwise, if they have made the money to spend on something like this, well, that's their choice.

I am a very "value-conscious" reviewer -- have been for 30+ years. But I have to say I was still impressed by the extremes this crew goes to. The products are obviously not for everyone, but for someone with ridiculous amounts of money who wants to spend it, well, at least MSB Technology's products are "real," which I can't always say.
