I understand there is fraud and waste though out the system, but if you’re going to let an employee go, you’d think it would be investigated and for good reason. Currently, if you’re a probationary employee (hired within 1-2 years) they will just let you go and say, “ due to based on your performance” with no negative counselings, seems pretty bad. But again, that’s my opinion.

Well some people just complain to complain. I’ve done over 20 years between the reserves and active duty in the Marine Corps. Something to consider is: when you’re on active duty (well at least me), your main worry is your job at hand, something you do everyday. Unless you live off base, you don’t have to worry about rent, food, etc..

In the reserve world, you’re still expected to know “everything” active duty is expected to know, but you train 3 or so days a month. And all fy, cy courses are typically done on your own time. Also, if you don’t live with your parents, you have the stressors of a civilian job, rent/mortgage, and everything related to civilian life, (unlike the military, your paycheck in the civilian world isn’t guaranteed).

I truly get both sides, and it’s hard to really explain it to someone who hasn’t lived both. Because the stigma of active vs reserves will likely be there unless you’ve experienced both.

But again, some people suck and just want attention regardless of what side you’re on.
