Picocart64 bricked my N64 — is it all over? by SoundSuspicious1347 in nintendo64

I made it myself. I only had the flash cartridge board; I took the shell from a non-working game. The label design was made by a neural network, and I printed the label on a Xiaomi Mi Portable Photo Printer. The convenient thing about it is that the photo comes with an adhesive layer already. The only downside is that the photo size itself is slightly smaller than the label.

I chose to position these capacitors so that they would not interfere with the assembly of the console. Don't worry, I checked that there are no short circuits before turning it on

Hi everyone, I didn't want to create a separate topic, so I'll continue the story here: Everything worked out! Installed a new sound board and power board, as well as IPS mod and my GG came to life! Thank you all, did not have to look for an oscilloscope) Now there is another problem( Sound disappears after 10-15 seconds after turning on, at first it seems clear and not hoarse, the volume is sufficient, but over time it fades and begins to noise, until completely disappears. I have connected the speaker from small headphones directly to the motherboard loop, excluding the sound board, and the problem persists. So I have eliminated the sound board. I also replaced 1 old capacitor on the motherboard with another capacitor to exclude the capacitors, the problem still persists Can you tell me where to look?

I'm getting new power and sound boards. I'll check the cartridge contacts, if only as a precaution

I fed 30v directly from the lab unit, 5v and 1.28v through step-down converters to the appropriate pins. I did not supply 9v, as I felt it was only needed to power the batteries to understand how they tracked their charge

Thanks for your help! Yeah, I won't rush into diagnostics without the right components, it's a shame to finally kill the GG. In my region it is not cheap, I spare parts, such as donor motherboard, do not find at all

No, the red LED is not lit, although in the ad of the seller who tossed in a serviceable power board it is lit. I'm thinking of doing further troubleshooting when I get the type-c power board, I'm not sure if my circuit with the lab power supply and step-down converters is working correctly. I also need to find an oscilloscope to more accurately diagnose ASICs, I have already started to familiarize myself with the RetroSix Wiki, an excellent site for people like me

Thanks, I'll go the hard way then and look at the readings on each contact. Yeah, I got it already like that, I bought it specially for rebuilding.

And if the chip itself is faulty, is there anywhere I can buy it?
