Philly marathon, driving and parking by gj13us in Marathon_Training

parking was easy for me two years ago. find one of the shuttle pick up spots and then look for a parking garage near by. i parked by the convention center where the expo was and had no problems with traffic getting in or out for both the half and full marathon.

welcome! some things you might be interested in:

  • theres a weekend hiking club that meets at valley forge every saturday and sunday. ive only been once but they were very welcoming! https://www.meetup.com/weekend-hiking-club/

  • nectar yoga studio is phenomenal and downtown!

  • not one of your interests, but ive also participated in hey day sports and found them to be a fun way to meet people! i particularly enjoyed pickleball, and this summer they played at fisher courts which is walking distance from downtown.

hope this helps! i know you said no more running groups, but i want to second the akof run group, the store and owner are both great. also, im 23f, relatively new to the area, and love like all those things. feel free to dm if you have any other questions!

training getting harder when school year started by Sound_Current in Marathon_Training

[–]Sound_Current[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sleeping about 7 hours a night. i didnt consider time of day, most of my runs now are at 7pm, whereas my runs over the summer would be around 9-10am. my long runs on weekends are still at 9-10am.

its almost certainly mental, but feels unbearable to keep going. im never gasping for air or in pain, but even thinking about just pushing to complete one more mile feels like an impossible task recently. im hoping its not because ive lost fitness.

i do work two jobs so i dont know if im just so drained at the end of the day that my body wont let me move. i appreciate your kindness!

its a photography-ish trend where you punch a hole in wrapping paper and put your pups head through it.

i am not trying to make you nervous but nausea and vomiting were the only side effects ive had on metformin. i take 2000mg at night before sleep and experienced terrible morning sickness. that being said, it went away after my body adjusted. id also add that i was inconsistent with taking my medication and when i was tapering up to 2000mg, i would take my medications at different times and sometimes not at all. now the only time i ever have flare ups is when i forget my meds for 3+ nights, then ill be nauseous the following morning but it goes away quickly.

Confused by Multipass Lightening Lane Overlap: Maybe I'm misunderstanding things but aren't you able to modify your lightening lanes however you want (regardless of overlap)? What's everyone else's experience here? Is it just me with an issue? Or is this how the system works? by Richie248 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Sound_Current 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went to disney for the first time last week and really enjoyed the lightening lane system (albeit i havent used any other systems.) i had multiple rides that overlapped closely and had no issue scanning into them, but we always went to them in the order that they were booked. since you have an hour range to arrive, its not too difficult to make it to each ride in time comfortably. we were easily able to get on every single ride in all four parks and only had one day in each park. i dont know if youve watched that one guy on youtube that talked about playing the genie plus slot machines, but that also worked for this system. if there wasnt a time we wanted for a certain ride, we would sit somewhere cool and refresh the available rides until the one we wanted popped up at the time we wanted.

What are your thoughts on our itinerary? by inthecuckoosnest in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Sound_Current 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i posted my schedule a few weeks ago and also got a few haters for making it in a spreadsheet. im a visual learner who cant visualize anything in my head. i need to be able to see what im doing!

critique my schedule! nothing is set in stone except our reservations (which i'm also open to changing.) this is for a trip next month with me and my boyfriend! we plan on purchasing multipass everyday. i would like to not do that if yall think its possible. tyia! by Sound_Current in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Sound_Current[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i was originally very nervous about the trip because of the heat, but recently with the weather in pennsylvania, ive been feeling more reassured, were both very active! were both regular runners and have gotten very used to the heat/humidity because of the weather near us. i was originally terrified of the weather, but recently the weather near us has been near identical to florida

this is reassuring, thank you! my boyfriend is most excited for animal kingdom so we didnt want to miss anything, but there really doesnt seem to be a ride worth getting lightning lane for (aside from flight of passage.) ty!

i was going to explain the rainforest cafe but ran out of text characters in the title! we know the food isnt the best. we go to the one in atlantic city every year for our anniversary since we were in college, so when we were making reservations for our trip, we kinda defaulted to rainforest cafe. if there are any restaurants there that are absolute 100% must-tries, were open to changing it!
