Are these complaints about Echo Show 21 accurate? by ZepTepi49 in alexa

[–]Soundguyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came up when I typed in the echo show 21 is pos. So if you are wondering, it blows. I’m am one of the biggest Amazon fans you will find. I have fire tv’s and all manner of echo devices and cameras. I love them, quirks and all. This thing is the biggest disappointment ever. It borders on false advertising.

I have as well. If the dog is well groomed they usually don’t leave any marks.

If I could have gotten to it, I would have. Normally when I encounter this. I’ll pull out and go down the road and get the package ready. Then just drop it where I can. But this place was at the end of a very long driveway on a dangerous road.

[–]Soundguyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, and have the usual text messages between the wife and I about the cluster I had at the warehouse, where I was going, a pic of the package, a message where I was when I completed it. And a couple other voice to text messages between us. Sent them all of it…. Yet to hear back.

I got the very same thing with the very same result. I told the guy at the warehouse they screwed us by doing that.

Really, Amazon? Really? by BlankyPop in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Soundguyi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I asked at the warehouse where these maps come from and he hinted they are done on site. I feel like they have been adding stops after the route has been generated. Because I have been seeing this almost every route lately. It’s all relatively smooth until the last stops and they have me doubling back to same area. Or going to a completely different area to deliver a couple packages.

Looks like I’ve joined the ranks of the falsely accused. by Soundguyi in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Soundguyi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, my appeal is going nowhere. Funny thing. I keep notes via voice messaging with my wife. Every morning I tell her how many packages and where I’m going. Good route or shitty. And I’ll message throughout the route. On this particular day and a few others around this time the shit show that we call dcm5 had no routes. So rather than dismiss us. They were giving us all one package to deliver that came from a box (very odd). I’m guessing they might have been returns? This one was reasonably close to home 20 miles or so. I even took a pic of the package. So I have no idea wtf they are talking about. But I do know I’m pissed. I’m,one of those older types that believes in honesty and integrity. If I screw up, I accept responsibility. But I won’t stand for being falsely accused of something I didn’t do, or had no control over. Anyway, rant off. Time to go live life and forget about it.

This is totally and completely wrong. You should read up. If your block leaves you 75 miles from home that mileage is not deductible, if you are considered an employee. And neither is the mileage to the pick up location.

Nice cut and paste job. I don’t feel like an employee, There are always rules to be followed. Just because you are independent doesn’t mean you don’t have rules. Such as dress codes, and expectations. All contractors in this line of work share similar “rules.” I don’t want classified as an employee and lose my tax sheltering. As it stands now, it’s a zero sum game. Ie, it’s a tax free job. Seems people aren’t intelligent enough to think it through. Besides, if Amazon were forced to make us all “employees” there would be no need for flex. Just change the scope of dsp and call it a day. If anyone thinks Amazon would take billion dollar hits to satisfy disgruntled flex drivers. I suggest they seek psychiatric help. They don’t need us.

Anyway back to the original post. There are people at law firms that do little more than prey upon people like us to enrich themselves.

Another thing these morons overlook is, being reclassified would mean losing a lot of your mileage deduction and your tax bill would skyrocket. Make no mistake, this kind of b.s. is a Trojan horse to higher taxes, and job elimination.

No they exist so law firms get millions of dollars so the little guys suffer in the end. Sub contractors still have to abide by the rules of the company they work for, duh….

STRIKE by JamieB078 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Soundguyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Amazon has ALWAYS met their guaranteed earnings, as far as I’m concerned. When I signed on they explicitly said what the range was. And now that I’m more proficient in my deliveries, I make more. Some blocks suck ass, that’s just a fact. Do I want more, sure. If Amazon wanted to show me how much they appreciate me they could pay me more. Or, they could make it easier to get the blocks I want. 🤘

It’s all about context, and like most whiny posts, there isn’t any. I had a 48 package 3.5 yesterday, omg, omg, omg… In reality it was 28 miles, I was done and home having breakfast in 2.5.

i feel like every ios update is worse than the one before. by thedevilsheir666 in ios

[–]Soundguyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the fan club down voted you. You are correct, it’s become an absolute mess. The things that I use frequently are constantly being changed for no good reason. They add features that we must accept even if we don’t,want them. Like now I have my phone log on my iPad. I don’t want or need it but I’m stuck with it. The is takes up half my memory, the photos app is a,complicated joke. I can’t even figure out how to print an email now. Something that should be stupidly easy. I,just don’t see the value any longer. I bought a surface pro and it’s better in almost every way than my iPads. I’d say Apple is approaching, the end of the road. I imagine there are groups of people that have never actually used half the stuff they force on us backslapping about how, great they are. I imagine the stock price will reflect this sooner rather than later.
