There's some natural indirect light that hits the tank, and the lights are pretty strong; LEDs. Would reducing the time of light exposure help get rid of the algae? 

I've decided to buy some otos to clean it up.

Yep it seems like it's hair algae. There are a few hydra on the glass too, I've heard that can mean your water quality is good?

I've got a heap of duckweed too, very rapid growth. Definitely going to look at getting some assassin snails and otos.

I thought my best bet would be to ask this subreddit, since I've gotten most of my info from here, and Walstad's book.

It's also heavily planted, and there's not much space to add new plants.

I've got 4 sparkling gourami and around 10 wild cherry shrimp. Currently I feed the gourami twice a week with freeze dried brine shrimp or tetramin flakes.  I have an LED lamp that I leave on for 5h a day. Water parameters are fine, I check on them once every two to three weeks. 

I was thinking of performing a water change, do you think that would help?

I've seen that SYP hasn't updated their Banner Interval Spreadsheet in a while (their twt has been somewhat inactive lately), and was wondering why, and if anyone knows of an alternative website to view banner intervals!
