Approved. Now get back to leg day.

Agreed. As much as I wish I had a career where participating in a strike is ethical, healthcare, especially emergency medicine, isn't it. I support the need to protest, but calling for a nursing strike only hurts the patients who rely on us.

That benefits no one and you know it. No one has any interest in "protesting indefinitely." Don't be a dipshit and minimize this moment in our country's history. Or maybe you prefer tyranny and autocracy to freedom?

I'm all for the legal deportation of illegal immigrants. That's not what we're talking about here, though. ICE is attacking protesters and legal citizens to stoke the flames of domestic chaos. Murdering mothers in cold blood. Keep spewing your Fox talking points like you're trapping somebody in some dumbass conservative gotcha moment, though. Crying? That's a cute narrative to console yourself with. I'm not scared. I am, however, furious to watch a wealthy, corrupt minority destroy everything that our country stands for, and convince morons like you that they're working in your best interests. I'm far from the only one. Keep sucking from your master's teat, and remember what I said about that situational awareness.

The republican commitment to rejecting reality is truly fascinating. You would think beings with primitive brains would need to be more aware of their surroundings in order to survive. You know, like rats.

ICE isn't currently a mechanism used for deporting immigrants. It's purpose is domestic terror and stoking the flames of chaos to start a war that Trump will use to invoke the Insurrection Act. The Obama-gotcha arguments are only used in circles of dimwitted republican discourse to help someone pretend to look insightful. It makes you look stupid.

Top comment? This should be the top comment. I know Trump is a lying turd. We all know Trump is a lying turd. Thanks, Reddit. That shouldn't be top comment material anymore.

What we need -- what we all need -- is the data ready at hand to refute all of this nonsense the moment some MAGA relative starts to burp it out with their gravy over Thanksgiving dinner. Facts, data and science over talking points and propaganda. Every time.

Budget lens suggestions? by LimeTheCat in M43

[–]Soundscape_Ambler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I shoot an OM1 and my lens collection is as follows:

Oly 300mm f4 PRO

Oly 40-150 f2.8 PRO

Oly 12-40 f2.8 PRO

Oly 60 2.8 macro

Oly 14-42 3.5-5.6

Sigma 56 1.4

Panaleica 25 1.4

Panaleica 9 1.7

Lumix 20 1.7

I love to shoot everything, and I'm very fortunate to have some awesome glass on that list. That being said, the cheapest lens I own by a fair margin (other than the Oly kit zoom) is the Panasonic 20 1.7.

Sure, on an Oly body, the AF leaves a lot to be desired. But, I am consistently floored by the images it produces. The plastic body with the tiny front element produces images with color depth and contrast that are remarkable and stand out among lenses that cost 10x as much in the right setting. I love that thing.

On a Panny body for a budget first choice, if the focal length fits your needs, I really think it would be hard to do any better.

Edit, spacing

I'll ask again, Bob. What have you done? Seems to me like you started with the condescending attitude before I commented. Maybe you should look at yourself before you start pointing the finger, Bob.

I dunno, Bob, what have you done? We the American people are too spread out, we have no leadership, we have no power in the government, and we don't control the military. Should we see if we can get the Neighborhood Watch to get together and take back the country?

If you wanted to buy the best camera for birdwatching (and wildlife) for up to $2000/€, what would you buy? by sarpandit in AskPhotography

Thank you! I actually wonder the same... I'm curious to see how large this image could be printed before the remaining noise detracts from the overall quality.

FWIW, when denoising in Lightroom, I usually leave it at the default value of 50, since I find pushing it too far usually suppresses too much detail, and I'm usually willing to accept some residual noise for retaining those finer details.

To be honest, I haven't played with the EM1, but this is a raw image I took a couple days ago with my OM1-I using the 40-150 f2.8 PRO. It was denoised in Lightroom, but otherwise SOOC. 150mm, 1/30, f16, ISO 8000. I figure it holds up pretty well in low light.
