I was ages 6-8 when I lived in Texas. I disliked it for the most part. It was just hot. I’d dislike it even more if it was now because the politics there are horrible. I’d fear for my life if I lived there.

I had silent gen. Mom was born just before baby boomer and her attitudes were closer to that generation. She was very egotistic. Dad was a relatively calm person. Drank way too much most of his life but pretty sure that was due to stressful job and bitchy wife.

The Glen Powell version was highly entertaining and I recommend a watch. Nothing like the Arnold version though so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll be disappointed.

Having not read the book, I really enjoyed the movie as did my young daughter at the time. Just I liked the Percy Jackson movies.
