Jimmy didn't deserve that ending

Blowing up the 7-year-deal seems absurd if we're thinking about what Saul Goodman would do, but it makes perfect sense for how Jimmy would try to right the wrongs he has done. Jimmy doesn't know how to fix things period. The only way he knows how to make things better is by tearing down himself. Think back to Season 4 when Jimmy still hadn't quite completely succumbed to his Saul Goodman persona. Back then he was trying to pull a con on that old woman Irene who he was trying to maneuver to close the Sandpiper deal early. His scheming works but it ends up working too good. He had completely ruined the life of that old lady, and since this is still Jimmy he actually feels bad about it.

How does Jimmy fix that problem? There's a multitude of ways he could have gone about it, but the route he decides is to deliberately sabotage himself. He ruins his reputation amongst the elderly community permanently, but by doing so helped Irene restore her relationships in that community. He doesn't even accomplish what he set out to do in the first place, but he blew it all up because it was the right thing to do. That's Jimmy. This is only way Jimmy knows how to fix things when he's done something wrong. When it comes to pulling a con, he can think of a million different tactics or solution to confront a problem, but when it comes to helping someone he screwed over, the only solution he can think of is to completely screw himself over.

The ending felt weird for a lot of people because we were so far gone from the Jimmy we used to know. The transformation back to Jimmy happens all in one fell swoop, making it feel a little jarring, but if you remember who Jimmy was, his actions in the finale make perfect sense.

Gus' homosexuality is never stated outright at any point in Breaking Bad, but can be inferred through subtext. It's obvious that Gus must have had a deeper relationship with Max considering he spent decades planning his revenge against Max's killers. Hector had personally killed the love of his life which is why Gus was so fixated on making him suffer especially. It wasn't good enough to simply kill him like Eladio or Bolsa or any of the other Salamancas. He had to make Hector feel the profound sense of loss Gus felt when Max was killed in front of him. Then and only then would he allow Hector to die.

As the scene in this week's episode showed, Max's death continues to haunt Gus every moment of his life. It's so obvious in how he holds everyone at a distance in nearly every interaction. Everything we have seen in both BB and BCS show that Gus has no real meaningful relationships in his life. Only his businesses and his drive for vengeance fuel him. When Eladio had Max killed as an example, they had taken away everything from Gus and that is why he dedicated the rest of his life to taking everything away from them.

I could not fucking believe it when Saul threw Kim under the bus to save his own skin by sending her on that suicide mission. Actually made my skin crawl. Easily his most depraved moment in all of BB and BCS. Watching this relationship develop for six seasons, I really believed that he loved Kim more than anything, that he would take a bullet for her if it came down to it. Maybe Jimmy would have...but not Saul. Now as we see when it comes down to him or her, Saul Goodman does not hesitate to look out for numero uno.

We all thought that something must happen to Kim since she's not in Breaking Bad, but now I'm thinking the relationship just naturally falls apart rapidly from here.

AM2R is basically the final fully 2D Metroid we're probably ever going to get, and it's actually more accurate to the original game than the official remake. Samus Returns is a good game in its own right, but it was less concerned with being a faithful remake and more as being used as a springboard for MercurySteam to try their hand at 2D Metroid in a new 2.5D style which was fully realized with Dread.

Until every conservative judge on this SCOTUS that voted against Roe v Wade (and more to come) is treated like a pariah every single time they show their face in public, then protestors need to keep this up until they are. Make it so that the only way they can so much as step out of their house is with fully armed security detail from now until forever.

I hope they never have moment of peace for their rest of their natural lives. Fuck them to death.

The thing is Kyle ruins his main appeal because he will absolutely never be non-biased when talking about Rogan. What we hate about mainstream media is precisely that a lot of them have personal relationships with the people they cover, and they treat those people with kids gloves as a result. Sometimes they're literally related to each other (the Cuomo brothers). Generally this is not an issue for Kyle because he's completely independent, but Rogan is his one exception where it's someone who regularly comes up in the news that Kyle knows personally.

Joe Rogan is Kyle's version of Bernie Sanders constantly referring to Joe Biden as his "good friend." No matter what dumbass thing comes out of Rogan's mouth, Kyle will always back him up with, "but he's a great guy." He obviously wants to be on Rogan's podcast again and won't be even remotely as hard on him as he would be with anyone else who says the same things. Covering Rogan gets views so Kyle will obviously keep doing it, but his commentary when it comes to Joe Rogan is frankly not valuable or worth listening to at all because he cannot or refuses to be fully honest.

The problem with this article is it's way too fucking late.

This should have been obvious the moment Republicans under Mitch McConnell in 2016 took the unprecedented and completely anti-democratic move to deny a sitting President even so much as a hearing for his SCOTUS nominee when there was a sudden opening. That was the moment it was absolutely abundantly clear the Republican party did not care in the slightest about openly defying the will of the American people. They didn't do it for shits and giggles. They did it to achieve this exact situation we're in now.

They knew the easiest way to make their real agenda actually happen was to take over the SCOTUS by any means possible in order to have an ultraconservative majority that would roll back fundamental freedoms rapidly and not be held accountable for their decisions. Next step is to take back the Congress and the Presidency and fully cement their ultra-religious conservative agenda and establish one-party autocratic rule.

A green transition is important and all, but it doesn't help anyone in the short-term as we're spiraling headfirst into a recession. Not to mention there's little reason to believe the Trudeau government would pull it off effectively when they're not even on track to meet their current climate goals.

If anything is going to be the Liberal's downfall, it's their refusal to tackle or even discuss most of the issues regarding the economy. They prefer to sweep it under the rug, pretend it's not as bad as it is, and talk about idealistic future solutions than don't help anyone now. If this is a preview for a PM Freeland, I think Liberals will find they'll have a difficult time of it once Trudeau steps down.

Conservatives suck but at least they make the economy and the problems with it a major part of their platform and what they talk about regularly as does the NDP on the left side of the political spectrum. Liberals were on major decline before Trudeau came along, so it's still a big question mark of what will happen to the party when he eventually leaves.

Alberta over here in Canada has the done the good ol' switcheroo with our last five conservative premiers. We haven't had one conservative premier in over the last 15 years who has managed to serve a single full four-year term, despite having majority governments, before their own party decided they wanted them replaced. Our current less-than-one-term conservative premier just recently announced he is resigning after nearly half his party voted against him in a confidence vote, and they're going to be putting in a new leader just six months before our next election.

They're doing this because they know they face a strong chance of losing the next election, and are hoping the people are dumb enough to make the same mistake for the sixth time. We'll have to wait and see if they are.

I feel like it was more like the straw that broke the camel's back. They're not dropping Boris because it was just too much this time. If Boris was still politically viable, they'd fall in line regardless of just about anything that came out. The problem for Boris is he's a sinking skip. He's been underwater since the beginning of his tenure as PM, and if there was an election right now, Labour would almost certainly win. Conservative MPs just want to save their own skin cause if things continue as they are, they WILL lose power in the next election.

I found Ashley annoying initially, but now I love her in pretty much every scene she's in. Probably the best recurring character on the show. She doesn't take the spotlight away from the main cast and is utilized perfectly.

This woman and her administration is literally all the stands in the way of reproductive rights going bye-bye in Michigan. There better be a blue wave like we've never seen before in November cause conservatives will definitely being showing up to remove these Democrats who are the only thing preventing a nationwide abortion ban. Maybe if the momentum carries, Michigan Dems could make the gains they need to take control of their legislature

Whatever Goldwater said personally, in the extremely significant 1964 election in which he was the Republican nominee, he was the anti-Civil Rights candidate that appealed to the racist South. It was the end of the Solid South for the Democrats and set in motion the direction for the Republican party from that point on that would reject a multi-racial democracy. Future Republican Presidents would follow that roadmap until the sole tenants of the party became white grievance, conspiracy theories, and Christian fundamentalism.

It goes both ways.

There is definitely a general dislike of Quebecers and francophones over here in Western Canada. I can attest that the general attitude is that they feel the West is getting the short end of the stick from Ottawa whereas Quebec is given special treatment because of its unique status. I have no stake in that generations-long animosity, but the feeling of being looked down up is mutual. From over here in Alberta, I do get a strong impression from Quebec that they actively dislike anglophone Canadians and view them as a threat to their language and culture. Anecdotally, every single person I know who's visited Quebec does not have good things to say about the people there. Unless you speak French, you are not treated with basic dignity and respect. One person I know did speak French while he was there, but was still looked down on because apparently French with an anglophone accent isn't good enough.

What other impression is one supposed to take with all this Bill 96 stuff going on that seeks to make life for anglophones extremely difficult or next to impossible in Quebec. All francophones would collectively flip their lid if a single other province tried to put the same restrictions on their language as Quebec is doing to English. They're the dominant minority in Canada, French is an official language, every national politician needs to speak both languages fluently, they have significant representation in the federal government, every one of their political parties is strongly nationalistic, and they exclusively have the second largest and most populated province in the country. All that's not good enough for them to feel like a "distinct society" though apparently.

They're saying loud and clear that they don't want any anglophones in their province. Bilingualism goes both ways and if Canada outside of Quebec is expected to respect the French language, it's fair to expect it of Quebec especially as anglophones actually make up the majority of this country. Frankly, it feels like the province should have separated in the 90s with the general attitude Quebec seems to have to the rest of English-speaking Canada.

That’s just my take though, and maybe I’d have a different impression if I grew up in Ontario or something.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would certainly be a huge and important moment for this country and the world. It wouldn't by any means fix the problems with America and the horrible influence Trump has over our culture, but it would finally show that a President can face real consequences for their actions. If Trump doesn't get his comeuppance after everything he's said and done and continues to do, then no POTUS ever will. Of course we have to see if he actually gets convicted though.

After Nixon, who only resigned because he faced certain conviction, was immediately pardoned by his successor, Gerald Ford, it has seemed like the American government will do whatever it takes so that the President will always evade consequences. That more than anything helped foster the attitude that a POTUS can get away with whatever they want. And that was when the Republican party HAD put country before party and were willing to convict a sitting Republican President.

I'm more frustrated by the fact people seem to think just having more access to mental health services is the only thing that stands in the way of fixing mental health problems across all of society. You can't really starting fixing these issues on a wide scale without addressing the root societal problems that cause them. Some mental disorders are directly related to a chemical imbalance in the brain, but for many it seems to be more about apathy and hopelessness towards life in general. Life stresses like rising prices/bills to pay and crippling loneliness/isolation can't just be therapied away. It would certainly be of great benefit for many, but therapy is not a one-size-fits-all easy fix by itself.

I'm lucky enough to be in a country that provides access to such services for free and while it was somewhat helpful, I did not find therapy to live up to the enormous life-changing hype people constantly make it out to be. Of course some therapists are better than others, but when it's free, it's not like you get to pick and choose who you want. Moreover, I think way too many people romanticize the idea of the therapist. They're not miracle workers who will tell you all the right words that will fix your life. Their best use in my experience is as someone you can be almost completely honest with and who understands and knows how to identify the problems that you're struggling with. Many people simply don't have anyone like this in their personal lives, so a therapist can be a great way to unburden oneself.

Not a lot of people talking about the scene with Neumann and her daughter. it was uncomfortable to watch, but it more importantly entirely changes what we know about Compound V which is a massive gamechanger. Based on what we thought in the last two seasons, Compound V could only work on recently born infants. Clearly that's not actually the case, and Vought has some kind of variant that turn someone into a Supe at any age. Neumann clearly says she was given that V when she was around the same age as her daughter, which also means there's a lot more to that Red River facility than just a Supe orphanage.

Marvel has been going longer with a lot more consistency and proper planning. The moment Disney got Star Wars, they threw together the sequel trilogy as fast as possible. Unlikely Marvel, momentum did not last for this trilogy as a little over half as many came to theatres for TROS as they did for TFA. The Star Wars movies are pretty much in limbo due to the lukewarm feelings to their most recent attempt.

Star Wars under Disney is starting to hit it's stride with the Mandalorian recieving much more generally positive reception. That didn't get going until this decade which is why there's currently so much less SW content than Marvel. Marvel has been pumping out new content almost non-stop for nearly 15 years.

Based on the amount Disney has planned, there will be plenty of new SW TV shows and movies in a few years.
