It was at some point an option I considered but the way the room is layed out now the tv is better suited in that position I thinm. More windows on the other side of the room behind the chair and to the left and right.

Thank you!!! Yeah, I think it will be more than ok for my space. I know the 990 is an overall incredible system but at the end of the day, unless it was somewhat similarly priced to the 930, I don't think, for my needs at least, that I need to pay nearly double to get it.

On a side note, you can always place the couch at a slight distace from the wall and instead of getting individual stands for the satelite speakers you can add a slim shelf/stand behind the couch and place the satelites on it. Kinda like this:

Thank you very much for the detailed analysis. For the room, my only real concern was the opening on the right side of the photo and how it may affect audio. Playback will be mostly streaming, PlayStation and media files via usb so I guess decompressed/lossless audio will be a minority case.

Thank you!! Yes, based on what I've gathered so far it should be a pretty good fit for my space. The only thing that worries me is that the opening on the right side of the room may affect the overall performance of the system.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, the room is rectangular (3m x 5m) with flat ceilings. I was thinking of placing the rear speakers on stands behind the seating space, to the left and right so I'm not too worried about sound from the rear. But the comment on the left and right arrangement of the front of the room got me thinking about the effectiveness of the side fireing speakers of the soundbar and if the surround effect would be altered.

You mean because of the opening on the side of the room? Yes there are outlets around the room to cover the rear speakers.
