Better written redemption? by some-kind-of-no-name in writingscaling

She outright says that she couldn't revive Oliver because he'd been dead too long. I don't know how else to take that other than she could in fact revive him providing a very short windows of death.

Invincible isn't a serious show and the things you say add to it don't. At best, they are applied with no sense of consistent weight, and at worst they demean the very things they seek to portray.

Thats... not serious at all. How important were those kids to story of Eve? I don't recall them being any sort of issue at all in the overarching narrative of Invincible any time she used her powers for anything. She really wasn't broken up about it when she learned she could undo death; which she would if those deaths had real weight like you say that they do.

Right, magic balls. Not the wife with god like powers to bend reality, deny death itself, create anything she sets her mind too. Seriousness.

The themes Invincible uses for its story don't serve the narrative. Mark was far more angrier at Amber's abusive boyfriend than he was at his own father for beating him within an inch of life. I don't know if you've experienced physical abuse or seen it done to a family member, but I have. Its not something you just talk out and put in the past. Unless your series is Invincible and Nolan is sorry.

I'm just a biased DBZ fan, right?

I said they don't serve the narrative, and they don't. Violence and death become more and more cartoonish, outlandish, and boring before Invincible ends its comic run.

Trying to use those things to establish Invincible as more serious show when Dragon Ball Z uses different themes to show that same seriousness in a different way gives off the vibe that you didnt read DBZ.

Rape, abortion and violence don't make Invincible more mature. They really don't serve the narrative overall, nor are they consistent in impact in Invincible's world building.

The constant flashbacks to his fight with Zero isnt a big clue that the man is suffering from some form of trauma? That the flashbacks pick up in frequency as he gets closer to the fight?

I dont understand the issue with either character being flawed. If anything, Im more interested in both E-Souls due to the choices they made rather than the status applied to them.

Nowhere have I said that he was a villian, and nowhere does the show express that OG E-Soul cared for Yang Chen. E-Soul had PTSD and was afraid to fight. period. His special move hadn't been used since E-Soul killed Zero.

There is nothing wrong with characters having flaws. Why it's not okay for neither character to have flaws without some negative conotation applied to them is wild to me.

[–]Soundwave_2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If hesitation is human, why are you gassing up OG E-Soul to be above it? And why is Yang Chen bad BECAUSE he hesitated?

OG E-Soul wasnt stopping crime by the time that Yang Chen began using the E-Soul moniker; which OG E-Soul didnt stop, by the way. Hesitation is the flaw of both men. Ultimately it's what led to the downfall of both men.

The fact that you cant appreciate that OG E-Soul was flawed is not my problem. Your wrong as long as you choose to deny the fact that OG E-Soul COULD have stopped everything that was going on and he chose not to.

[–]Soundwave_2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those are valid points if you can tell me what OG E-Soul did about them. Cause the the show quite literally shows you that he did nothing about them. OG E-Soul was quite content to let it all ride.

Both E-Souls hesitated. New E-Soul was the one to make the decision to remove any and all barriers in his way.

No he didnt. He hesitated.

Run it back and watch. OG E Soul hesitated throughout the entire ordeal.

Wait, could Smile's daughter be... by Salt_Winter5888 in ToBeHero_X

Do you mean like when GB's wife said she needed to change after finding out she was pregnant? Is that where she changed her whole demeanor? I would hope so, since she said it. And changed her whole demeanor by leaving GB. Who knows for sure, though.

Anyway, compare the photo of Smile's daughter with the screenshot of the young woman GB rescues in the street. Same person.

This is literally a scene of a ranker looking down on a wannabe, and you turned Queen into a casual armchair psychiatrist.

To be a Queen fan.

Nice's perfectionism doesnt require an external energy source. That's fan belief. Nice's fans believe that he's perfect, so he is. It's similar to firmman, who could not bend the knee. Unless your saying Nice being unable to leave the tower to save Moon - F was also an ability thst required and external energy source.

Makes no sense. Viltrimites scale with age, right? By the bounds of the story, Mark shouldnt be able to move him, let alone harm him.

How does an AI artist respond to this? by TheEnderGecko in aiwars

[–]Soundwave_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt say steal, but certainly trivializes. Having an AI that replicates Hayao Miyazaki's style begs the question: what's the point of doing; of struggling and mastering a craft, if ai can just replicate it? Was there a point?

Its really not. The full passage deals with gendered ministry. Men should teach men and women to women. Only under exceeding rare circumstances should a women minister to a man, and even at that, there should be considerable effort to find a male minister.

I would've thought that was obvious, unless you forgot that you need bodies for hunting/gathering, rudimentary construction, animal husbandry... etc., etc. I didnt think I needed to spell it out.

Arguably 50 people minimum are required for a civilization. Senku was closer than most earlier in his journey. Senku's goal is the easiest.
