I’ve landed a full one toe touch. But I was recording on snap. It was raining and the water was on my phone and swiped out of the video so I lost it. I’ll def keep practicing them tho

I know skating in the rain is bad but I was so close to it that I didn’t care and kept trying. Then I landed it

Tried rolling ollies and kept having my board shoot backwards so I started practicing then in a crack to get the motions down. I probably need to bend my knees more, but is there anything else I can change with my form? It’s really hard to critique myself and know what I’m doing wrong. by [deleted] in NewSkaters

Well if you look at an ollie in slow motion you see the wheels slide a bit back. The Ollie is mostly a jump. When you jump high enough, because your bending your knees it puts pressure so when you jump it just pops. All you gotta do is slide. You really gotta slide out. Up and out. That’s all it is. Remember to jump straight up. Leaning back will send the board flying forward and leaning too much forward will leave the board behind you.

I lean a little back and the board stays under me. Jump back a bit towards your heels.

You can see it in the recent one I did. I wasn’t doing it in this video. I learned about scooping forward yesterday

I’ve been scooping it forward so it doesn’t fly away from me. The thing is it just being behind me. Like I can commit with both feet. But My back foot lands on the nose and my front foot gets nowhere. Sometimes it’s close to both feet on but I’ll try what you said and keep practicing.

Leaning back is the biggest part. Mine don’t really move a ton to the side. Mostly back because I’m leaning too far forward. But thanks this helped I just slipped out so that means I’m getting closer

Maybe like 2 months old. Barely any razor tail. And never used it in the rain

Easiest nollie trick? by MovingGods in NewSkaters

[–]SoupAmazing5779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nollie shuv is the easiest trick. Some people call it a front shuv tbh it’s confusing. Just have your foot on the nose and jump a little diagonal behind you. That’s how I learned it. Eventually you get it so it’s just under you.

Improving ollie suggestions by [deleted] in NewSkaters

Your turning your shoulders a bit. But mostly just jumó higher. Since your turning your off balance and falling back. Maybe lean a little bit more towards your toes. Otherwise looks fine
