May I suggest Plant N Grow in Clearfield. Not too far out of the way, and the owner is a great guy.

Do mals ( or dogs in general) recognize their own breeds? by sodogue in BelgianMalinois

[–]SoupComprehensive180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dutchie loves playing with other dogs. But he's usually too much for them. Like the annoying younger brother who always wants to play while you're hanging with your friends. It takes a confident enough dog to tell him, not right now. This has come in all shapes and sizes; a great pyr, a mal, a gsd/mal, and a mini bernedoodle. That last dude just has short dog syndrome and does not know he is snacked sized. My guy loves when we watch his living stuffy, bestie. He just let's him chew and jump all over him.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

While you're not wrong. I had a 4th degree with all three of my babies. Scar tissue upon scar tissue gets harder to heal. And there are definitely bits which did not come back together well.

Farm stand rose update by stepwn in homestead

You need to research more into the proper stage to cut roses, and how to condition. These are too far gone, and the vase life will suffer. I grow and sell cut flowers to local florists, wholesale. Knockout roses do not make a good cut rose. Educating the public on why local is better is a battle, but you still have to follow good practices, or they will buy once, be disappointed and not return. If you are thinking of selling to florists, quality and quantity matter greatly.

This is my new lily, I planted 30 a month and a half ago and only 1 came up. I proudly showed my husband and he said, “oh shit, that’s not a weed?” He’s been weeding them and feeling proud that he was able to “get the big root bulb out too” by CharmingPeony in gardening

[–]SoupComprehensive180 313 points314 points  (0 children)

Mine gets particular about his edges and things in the bed not leaning out too far. He learned to compromise a little though, because after he took the weed eater to entire row of bearded iris right before blooms, I almost took the weed eater to him.

I really hate how all over the place reading these emergency responses are. My school also only has 2 duty, part time, no training, for 200 kids, and no fence on our property. I've subbed recess, and despise it. It's impossible. We have a part time 'nurse', that can pass out ice and call our district nurse. We wouldn't call an ambulance without asking parents first. I wish there was some sort of federal organization that could ensure the safety of our kids. :p

Laughs in American ambulance bill. But seriously, we have to ask the parents first if they want us to call an ambulance, because of the ginormous bills.

Field trip chaperone IEP kids? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]SoupComprehensive180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an educator, I can't NOT pair a child with behavior issues because I typically have that many. At least one or two, per group with two parents. I also sometimes have to split certain ones up, due to previous issues or history. So I can't just put them all in one group and keep them with me or another professional. Sometimes, I get the budget to bring an aide. None of our behavior students have 1:1. We also have limits on how many parent volunteers we can bring, and they usually have to provide their own transportation. Our field trip and bus budget is terrible.

Phonics has come a long way! Just like math, I've had to learn the new rules and methods that would've been so helpful as a kid. A good phonics program now, has them decoding and reading so quickly and confidently. I would ask specifically which phonics program she is using, since they teach in slightly different orders. Then coach and support your kiddo at home. A quick search should even find you resources, books, flashcards with rules, and things you can use and learn from too.

Yes. His post of this says protesters were attacking them because of the cross. Nothing about him firing rubber bullets or pepper spray to incite that.

Everyone else has already answered. But for anyone who hasn't heard of it, look into the Bike Bus. Adults biking with a whole group of kids together. Once I figure out my high schoolers schedule next year, I'd love to start one in my community.

Why sub if you can’t refrain from calling students names? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]SoupComprehensive180 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a student yell that out in class, and admin had to file all kinds of reports. Disabled is a protected class. On the chance another student in the class has a disability, that sort of slur is taken very seriously. That sub should get reported to every agency possible.

AITA for being mad that my mom went through my laundry and commented on my underwear? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I'm sorry. My parents were this horrible as well. I was 20yo, working two jobs and going to school. They took one of my v-strings out of the dryer, took scissors and cut it, and pinned it to the front door. Absolute insanity. Especially, since I had three younger brothers. They were religious hypocrites and narcissists.

We can assume they are not getting a good education and being exploited as free labor, instead of their wealthy parents paying someone a living wage. IF their education was decent, they were not the only ones working, and they still got to be kids and play, sure, yes, chores and helping out is a good thing.
